Job description

Job Summary:

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  ย ย ย Under supervision of the Radiology Medical Director and Administrative Director of Radiology, the incumbent directs the Radiology Systems operations. ย The Regional Director of Radiology Systems oversees the technical implementation, maintenance and operation of systems and workflows within the Radiology Department at the Westchester Medical Center and WMCHealth Network. Does related work as required.

Responsibilities:ย 

  • Oversees the operation of Radiology Systems.
  • Oversees Radiology equipment to ensure continued operations.
  • Directs the operations for updating and maintaining the systems for the Radiology Department and WMCHealth network.
  • Directs, analyzes and designs Radiology workflows.
  • Works closely with faculty, clinical, technical and clerical staff within WMCHealth to manage Radiology workflows and efficiencies throughout the network.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with Information Systems, Biomed, hardware and software vendors to maintain optimal Radiology operations.
  • Analyzes Radiology systems and makes recommendations for new systems to meet the operational needs of the Radiology department.
  • Directs the generation of management analytics to ensure optimal Radiology management.
  • Attends seminars and conferences and keeps abreast of advancements in Radiology operations and management.
  • Does related work as required.

Qualifications/Requirements:

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Experience:

Seven years of experience in a hospital radiology department or a private radiology service performing diagnostic work, one year of which must have included systems analysis and development. Thorough knowledge of Radiology Management.

Education: ย 

Completion of a two-year certified Radiology Technologist Certification Program or the equivalent of such a course of study as determined by the New York State Department of Health, or the equivalent of such a course of study in a college as determined by the New York State Department of Education.

Licenses / Certifications: ย 

Possession of a valid license and current registration, issued by the New York State Health Department, as a Radiologic Technologist.ย  Must be certified with a current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Other:ย 

Special Requirements:

Must maintain the New York State license and registration as a Radiologic Technologist during the course of employment as well as the ARRT certification.ย  Continuing education credits are required for ARRT re-certification.ย  Must maintain professional and technical knowledge by maintaining regulatory CME requirements.
