- Provide leadership to the marketing and communications strategy, optimizing staff time for a strong return on investment.
- Protect and enhance the brand identity and reputation of the association.
- Build and maintain relationships with media as required.
- Direct staff on content production, including press releases, articles, blog posts, social media content, and website copy.
- Manage digital marketing efforts and measure resource investment against goals and performance.
General Management
- Provide leadership and support to management and staff, including preparing reports for the Board of Directors and participating in Board meetings as required.
- Manage and grow relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring services are delivered on time.
- Offer thoughtful, sound advice and direction to the Chief Executive Officer.
- Contribute constructively to leadership discussions on business development opportunities.
- Manage the departmental budget, aligning it with work plans and associated reporting.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in marketing, communications, event management, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- 7-10 years of progressive professional experience, with 3+ years working in a leadership role or capacity.
- Tech-savvy, with experience selecting and managing Learning Management Systems, event software, and related tools such as webinar platforms, registration systems, CRM platforms (Salesforce), and project management tools.
- Skilled at negotiating event contracts, including A/V, conference planners, and other vendors.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to set priorities and make sound decisions.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills, with a talent for building relationships and working with diverse stakeholders.
- Able to research, analyze findings, and turn insights into strategy.
- Detail-oriented and able to drive projects to completion across multiple deadlines.
- Diplomacy and sound judgment with confidential or sensitive matters.
- Collaborative and ready to pitch in when needed.
- Flexible and resourceful, with integrity, credibility, and dedication to CPB Canada's mission.

- A flexible work environment that promotes a healthy work/life balance.
