Job Description:

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for supporting, maintaining, enhancing, and troubleshooting HCL Notes/Domino applications and infrastructure. The role works closely with business partners, developers, infrastructure teams, and vendors to ensure reliable operation of Notes-based systems and migration of legacy solutions where required. This role will also deliver ongoing support and enhancements to six custom SharePoint Framework (SPFx) applications designed to modernize the platform and facilitate the transition away from HCL Notes.

What will you do?

  • Administer and support HCL Notes/Domino environments and SPFx apps.
  • Analyze and resolve application and infrastructure incidents.
  • Develop and maintain LotusScript-based applications and agents.
  • Basic navigation to check document locks, replication histories, and application performance
  • Perform database administration and maintenance activities.
  • Support Notes-to-modern-platform migration initiatives.
  • Investigate performance, security, and stability issues.
  • diagnose conflict documents, synchronization delays, and client setup faults
  • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers.
  • Produce technical documentation and operating procedures.
  • Participate in change management, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Provide operational support and on-call assistance as required.

Preferred Skills

  • Notes migration experience
  • SPFx development experience including TypeScript and React version compatibility requirements, SPFx web parts and SPFx packaging (.sppkg) as well as Power Apps, Power Automate, OpenSource, Java, Json, Git and Node.js/NPM / Gulp knowledge, Microsoft Graph API
  • TypeScript and React experience
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Web development fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript concepts)
  • Strong troubleshooting and support experience
  • Ability to reverse-engineer existing code and vendor solutions
  • Familiarity with connecting Notes data to external systems using SQL Server, XML, or REST APIs.
  • Vendor-management experience.
  • Automation and scripting experience.

  • Experience supporting business-critical applications in large enterprise environments.
  • Experience with legacy application modernization is an asset.

  • Occasional weekend and/or after-hours work to support project implementations and production activities.
  • Occasional travel between Sun Life office locations may be required.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
