Job description

The Regional Director of Behavioral Health is to assist the Director of Community Based Services in the management, leadership, direction, and administration of all aspects of Community Based Service programming. They serve as the connection between funders, referral sources and community partners. Position bears responsibility for day-to-day operations of assigned Community Based Service programs, and the achievement of program quality goals as established by the Provider and contract requirements.

**This position requires regular travel to other locations throughout the region and will be available starting 7/20/26**

We are looking for a Regional Director of Behavioral Health who must have:

  • Master’s in psychology, Social Work, or a related subject area
  • At least three (3) years of leadership/supervisory experience preferably in a non-profit or social service setting. Program development including design, financing, staffing, and evaluation.
  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and Auto Insurance

Job duties and responsibilities include:

  • Ability to lead and oversee evidence-based program services.
  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, managing entities, Department of Children and Families and the Department of Juvenile Justice administration and staff to ensure program effectiveness, efficiency, and collaboration.
  • Demonstrate skill and comfort in proactively building relationships with diverse audiences, including public officials, coalition partners, community leaders, managed care systems, and funders.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of county, state, and federal laws and regulations covering behavioral health, child welfare, and other social services and their funding.
  • Demonstrate understanding of governmental contracts and in contract negotiations.
  • Provide effective leadership to motivate and guide staff toward the successful accomplishment of established programmatic goals and objectives; create a successful work environment and positive learning atmosphere.
  • Attend and/or present at community events in an effort to promote Community Based services throughout the state.
  • Plan and conduct regular staff meetings to develop open communication and for the dissemination of information.
  • Monitor compliance of staff training.
  • Provide 24/7 availability of clinical and administrative support to Directors.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.


Job Essentials:

  • Oversee the operations of program site locations, including the implementation and execution of all policies and procedures, to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Provide oversight for circuit office operations, including back up to directors as needed.
  • Oversee and ensure that all program staff comply with regulations, timelines, performance outcomes and contract standards.
  • Assist in the management of Human Resources functions; assist in the development of team members through training and other professional development activities. Participate in recruitment, selection, performance management, and retention efforts for program
  • Participate in training program staff; supervise and evaluate the performance of professional, administrative, and operational staff.
