Job Summary
Provides strategic leadership, guidance and direction to ensure effectiveness of construction Project Management and support staff. Oversees performance, productivity and efficiency of construction Project Management and support staff through the provision of effective methods and strategies.
Essential Duties
  • Provides stategic leadership, directs, coaches, and develops staff to achieve performance goals and company objectives. Shares technical expertise and experience. Ensures effective training and development of project managers and support staff. Ensures adequate staffing levels in the department. Conducts timely, complete and meaningful performance management conversations.
  • Develops strategic plans for construction project management activities. Implements and manages plans accordingly. Participates in the strategic planning process.
  • Champions pre-job and continuing planning activities (e.g., MISOP, pull planning, scheduling, value mapping, contraints logs, etc.).
  • Develops departmental goals and objectives, and annual budgets (operational and capital) that support strategic goals and objectives. Monitors and facilitates monthly project financial reviews, investigates variances, and recommends or adjusts operations using LEAN techniques. Ensures project management teams complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships/agreements with external partners, customers, vendors. Utilizes, enters, and maintains all customer activity in CRM. Participates in contract review and renewal meetings. Reviews and negotiates contract terms and conditions, clauses, schedules or any unusual requirements. Facilitates the resolution of issues with customers, vendors, trades or Partners.
  • Implements and manages the Account Management Program to support business unit objectives. Works with the account manager and the customers to develop their strategic plan to foster growth and drive sales.
  • Ensures adherence to construction processes designed to complete projects safely, with a high standard of quality and expected productivity.

Minimum Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field is a mandatory qualification for this role.
  • A minimum of 9 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Demonstrated excellence in leadership, people management, communication, and influencing skills is essential for this position.
  • Ability to manage and influence key stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of optimization techniques and process improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrates business strategy into day-to-day delivery.
  • Experience in successfully leading projects and programs, on-schedule and within budget.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business needs.
  • Demonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying priorities.
