Since 2009, the LawrencevilleSuwanee School of Music (LSSM) has proudly served the Lawrenceville-Suwanee community with exceptional music education. With nearly 1,200 students across two thriving locations, we offer lessons for students ages 4 through adult in a wide variety of instruments. As an eleven-time Best of Gwinnett winner, National Music School of the Year 2021, Most Outstanding Organization Award recipient (2023), and NBCUniversal Spotlight feature (2024), our reputation is built on excellence, heart, and community impact.
We are currently seeking a Part-Time Office Assistant to support our front desk and daily operations. This is an immediate opening and a long-term opportunity for someone who is friendly, dependable, detail-oriented, and excited to grow within a fast-paced, student-centered organization.
Position Summary
The Office Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring smooth day-to-day front desk and administrative operations at the LawrencevilleSuwanee School of Music. Reporting to the Manager or Assistant Manager, this role provides exceptional customer service to students, parents, instructors, and staff while maintaining a welcoming, organized, and safe environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, multitasking, and being part of a mission-driven team.
Schedule & Compensation
  • Pay: $16.00$18.00 per hour (based on experience)
  • Schedule:
  • 35 days per week
  • Evening shifts MondayFriday: 4:00 PM 9:00 PM
  • Saturdays: 9:00 AM 5:00 PM (some Saturdays required)
  • Closed Sundays
Key ResponsibilitiesFront Desk & Client Support
  • Greet students and families warmly and professionally
  • Answer and direct phone calls; take accurate messages
  • Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized lobby environment
  • Alert the Manager or Assistant Manager to any visitor needs or concerns
Student Safety & Oversight
  • Supervise students in the lobby to ensure safety and respectful behavior
  • Ensure students under 13 do not exit the building unattended
  • Report any safety concerns or behavioral issues to senior staff
Paperwork & Filing
  • Organize and file enrollment forms, attendance records, and withdrawal requests
  • Prepare welcome packets and student folders for new students
  • Scan and digitally organize documents
Administrative & Operational Support
  • Restock front desk materials, flyers, and supplies
  • Run internal errands (e.g., delivering paperwork, checking classrooms)
  • Assist with event setup, seasonal dcor, and promotions
Communication Assistance
  • Contact parents to confirm appointments or share reminders (with guidance)
  • Use approved communication templates for calls, emails, and text messages
  • Maintain a professional and friendly tone in all customer interactions
Additional Responsibilities
  • Host and support online virtual lessons via Zoom
  • Assist with lesson scheduling and calendar updates
  • Provide high-level customer service support to over 60 instructors
  • Handle light retail sales and assist with enrolling new students
  • Create and distribute flyers; assist with social media updates (Facebook & Instagram)
  • Perform light cleaning duties (vacuuming, trash, tidying shared spaces)
  • Conduct follow-up calls and assist with soft sales for prospective clients

Employees in this role are expected to actively participate in ongoing professional development, including individual learning, team development activities, and department-wide initiatives (e.g., training sessions, workshops, book clubs, or similar learning programs).
This is not a temporary position. Candidates must be available for long-term employment and committed to at least 6 months of training and growth.
