Job description

Position Title: Director of Marketing

Reporting to: Executive Director of Growth, Partnerships & Strategy

Department: Marketing

Central Power Systems & Services is a privately held company with deep roots going back to 1954.  Our Mission Statement is forging long-lasting partnerships by providing first-class customer support.  We are experiencing significant growth across our manufacturing, service, and power generation and equipment operations. As the organization continues to scale, the marketing department is evolving from a support function into a strategic business partner. The Director of Marketing will play a key role in building the systems, processes, team capabilities, and marketing programs necessary to support continued expansion, strengthen the company's brand presence, and communicate the impact of one of the fastest-growing industrial organizations in the region.

JOB SUMMARY                                                                           

The Director of Marketing is responsible for leading the company's marketing organization and developing strategies that strengthen the brand, support business growth, and position Central Power Systems & Services as an industry leader. Reporting to the Executive Director of Growth, Partnerships & Strategy, this role oversees all marketing operations, including brand management, corporate communications, digital marketing, public relations, events, creative services, and marketing analytics.

As Central continues its rapid expansion across manufacturing, power generation, and service operations, the Director of Marketing will build and lead a high-performing marketing team capable of supporting multiple business units, new facilities, workforce growth, and expanding markets. This role combines strategic leadership with operational excellence, ensuring marketing initiatives align with corporate objectives while delivering measurable business results.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead the overall direction, strategy, and performance of the marketing department.
  • Develop and execute annual marketing plans that support company growth objectives.
  • Establish departmental goals, budgets, performance metrics, and resource plans.
  • Ensure marketing initiatives align with corporate strategy and business priorities.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented team culture.

Brand Strategy & Corporate Communications

  • Serve as the steward of the Central Power brand across all business units and customer touchpoints.
  • Lead corporate communications, media relations, and reputation management.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across marketing, recruiting, customer communications, and executive messaging.

Digital Marketing & Content Strategy

  • Oversee website strategy, digital marketing, SEO, email marketing, and social media.
  • Lead content strategy across digital, print, video, and multimedia platforms.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and digital trends to improve marketing effectiveness.

Events & Industry Engagement

  • Oversee planning and execution of trade shows, customer events, facility tours, product launches, sponsorships, and community initiatives.
  • Support executive participation in conferences, speaking engagements, and industry events.

Sales & Business Development Support

  • Partner with Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, and Human Resources to support company initiatives.
  • Develop marketing programs that generate qualified leads, strengthen customer relationships, and support revenue growth.
  • Create sales tools, customer presentations, and business development materials.
  • Support employer branding and workforce recruitment initiatives.

Budget & Vendor Management

  • Develop and manage the annual marketing budget.
  • Oversee agency relationships, creative partners, media vendors, and marketing technology providers.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts.
  • Ensure efficient allocation of marketing resources and measurable return on investment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive marketing experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing marketing teams.
  • Proven success developing and executing integrated marketing strategies.
  • Experience managing budgets, agencies, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in power generation, construction, or heavy equipment industries
  • Experience with public relations, executive communications, and brand management.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, website management, and marketing analytics.
