Job description

Zumbro Valley Health Center is seeking a Manager of Information Technology to join our team! The Manager of Information Technology provides day-to-day leadership and hands-on technical support for the Information Technology Department. This position supervises IT staff, coordinates daily workload and service priorities, supports staff development and performance, and helps translate agency strategy into practical technology solutions. The Manager of IT remains actively involved in technical operations, escalated support, system administration, project implementation, vendor coordination, security, user support, and support of the agency's electronic medical record (EMR)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Information Technology Department and ensure work is aligned with priorities established by the Director of Operations and agency leadership.
  • Supervise IT employees, provide clear expectations, regular coaching, ongoing feedback, and annual performance evaluations
  • Coordinate staffing, workload, coverage, and work prioritization so operational needs, projects, Help Desk requests, and urgent issues are appropriately balanced.
  • Evaluate agency technology needs and make recommendations regarding technology policies, standards, procedures, and operating practices; lead their development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance in consultation with the Director of Operations and other agency leadership.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting, configuration, installation, maintenance, and support for computers, peripherals, printers, phones, mobile devices, and other agency technology as needed.
  • Administer and support user accounts, permissions, groups, and access using systems such as Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and other agency platforms within established security and approval processes.
  • Participate in the Information Technology on-call rotation based on department staffing levels, team workload, and the readiness of other IT staff to independently provide on-call support.
  • Partner with the EMR Lead & Solution Specialist, agency leaders, clinical and operational staff, Finance, and other stakeholders to understand workflows and translate business and regulatory needs into appropriate EMR configuration, support, and improvement activities.
  • Coordinate internal staff, vendors, and business owners to ensure technology implementations support agency workflow, operational needs, compliance requirements, and end-user adoption.
  • Support the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of agency information systems and electronic protected health information in accordance with HIPAA, applicable federal and state requirements, and Zumbro Valley Health Center policies.
  • Assist with security awareness, incident response, vulnerability remediation, endpoint protection, patching, backups, business continuity, and other security activities as assigned.
  • Work with the Director of Operations and agency leaders to identify technology and security risks, recommend corrective action, and support remediation efforts.
  • Assist in managing Information Technology operating expenses and assigned budget areas; monitor purchases, subscriptions, licensing, support agreements, and recurring costs.
  • Plan and recommend equipment, software, infrastructure, and capital needs based on lifecycle, risk, service requirements, and agency strategy.
  • Provide information and recommendations to the Director of Operations for department budgeting, technology planning, renewals, and purchasing decisions.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education or certifications in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.ย Aย bachelor's degree is preferred but not required when equivalent experience is demonstrated.
  • Five or more years of progressively responsible Information Technology experience.
  • Experience training, supervising or managing employees, ideally in Information Technology and/or health care.
  • Health care Information Technology experience.
  • Experience with electronic medical records or electronic health record systems.
  • Experience managing daily IT operations, service delivery, staff workload, technical escalations, projects, vendors, and technology implementations
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and the protection of electronic protected health information.
  • The ability to understand clinical and operational workflows and work collaboratively with non-technical users to translate workflow needs into practical technology solutions is strongly preferred.

Pay: $100,193 - $125,245 per year. Compensation is based on years of experience.
