Job description

Stand Together is a philanthropic community that helps America's boldest changemakers tackle the root causes of our country's biggest problems, from education to the economy, broken communities, and toxic division, among dozens of other pressing issues. We provide our partners with access to resources including funding, thought leadership, a network of peers, and a playbook for applying proven principles to transform lives and society.
Stand Together is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Director of Activations to help lead high-impact initiatives that drive mass participation, cultural engagement, and long-term movement growth around key social issues.
This role sits within Stand Together's Activation capability, which develops consumer-facing campaigns, partnerships, and engagement experiences designed to inspire people to take meaningful action and participate in solutions that strengthen society.
The Director of Activations will lead cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution, aligning internal teams, external partners, and activation platforms to deliver measurable impact at scale. This role is ideal for a collaborative leader who can translate big ideas into coordinated action, navigate complexity, and drive results across multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
How You Will Contribute
  • Lead the execution of strategic activation initiatives that drive audience participation, engagement, and cultural momentum.
  • Translate organizational priorities into activation strategies, audience journeys, and integrated engagement plans.
  • Help develop activation experiences, campaigns, and engagement opportunities that make participation easy, meaningful, and scalable.
  • Ensure activations deliver against defined goals, timelines, and performance outcomes.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across marketing, partnerships, creative, events, media, and external collaborators to ensure successful execution.
  • Work with relationship managers across creators, influencers, nonprofits, brands, athletes, artists, and other strategic partners that expand reach and participation.
  • Serve as a key connector across teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment around priorities, messaging, timelines, and execution plans.
  • Help operationalize activation infrastructure, platforms, and partnerships that enable activations to scale effectively across issues and geographies.
  • Define and monitor success metrics tied to participation, engagement, and activation performance.
  • Partner with analytics and insights teams to identify learnings, optimize strategies, and improve future activations.
  • Capture and share best practices and operational insights to strengthen scalable activation models over time.

What You Will Bring
  • 7+ years of experience leading integrated campaigns, activations, strategic initiatives, or movement-building efforts.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution and performance measurement.
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills with the ability to align diverse teams around shared goals.
  • Experience working with external partners, creators, brands, nonprofits, influencers, or cultural platforms.
  • Strong operational and project leadership capabilities with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and drive execution in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong understanding of how audience participation, community engagement, and cultural influence contribute to lasting social change.
  • Enthusiasm to contribute to Stand Together's vision and principled approach to solving problems, and a commitment to stewarding our culture, which champions values including transformation and innovation, entrepreneurialism, humility, and respect.

What We Offer
  • Competitive benefits: Enjoy a 6% 401(k) match with immediate vesting, flexible time off, comprehensive health and dental plans, plus wellness and mental health support through Peloton and Talkspace.
  • A meaningful career: Join a passionate community of over 1,300 employees dedicated to improving lives and driving innovative solutions to complex social challenges.
  • Commitment to growth: Thrive in a non-hierarchical environment that empowers employees to discover, develop and apply their unique talents.
  • Competitive compensation: Our approach rewards the value you create through competitive salaries and bonus opportunities, allowing you to share in the success you help drive.

$140,000 - $185,000 a year
For this role, the anticipated base salary range is $140,000-$185,000 per year. This role may also be eligible for additional bonus compensation designed to align total compensation with an employee's overall contribution to the organization.
Our Principles-Based Management™ (PBM) compensation philosophy is grounded in an individualized approach that rewards the long-term value each person creates for the organization. Compensation decisions are informed by a variety of factors, including relevant experience, capabilities, demonstrated skills, role responsibilities, and expected contribution. Consistent with this approach, base salary may vary within or outside of the anticipated range based on these considerations.
Our Values: Working for an organization within the Stand Together philanthropic community is different from many other places. The culture is deeply rooted in Principle Based Management® (PBM®), a framework guided by the principles that drive human progress, such as dignity, openness, and bottom-up empowerment. PBM® empowers employees to be entrepreneurial, to innovate, and to continually drive transformation.
We believe diversity fuels creativity, broadens knowledge, and helps drive success. That is why we're proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and strive to treat all employees and applicants with honesty, dignity, and respect.
