Role Description

As the Director of Corporate Infrastructure, you will drive efforts to oversee the design, implementation, and operation of our corporate networks. This includes the IT Infrastructure DevOps, Security and SRE teams. You have a deep understanding of infrastructure as code, configuration as code & networking technologies, strong business acumen, lead through data and metrics, and operate with a high level of rigor and accountability. You are responsible for the reliability, scalability, sustainability, and efficiency of SoFi's network infrastructure.ย 

As a member of the Corporate Infrastructure leadership team, you are directly accountable for the teams that are responsible for driving efforts to evolve and build our next-generation corporate network (to include infrastructure and wifi). This includes managing all aspects of our network - engineering and operations to improve user experience and performance, and also supporting the multi-terabit backbone network that interconnects edge PoPs, corporate offices, data centers, and cloud gateways.ย 

You will lead a diverse team through highly technical problems to achieve our overall strategic, operational, and financial goals. You will build and lead a high-performance team, displaying technical proficiency to support and scale the scope of our network operations. Collaboration and partnership with our lines of business will be essential as you help lead the transformation of our network to meet new demands and use cases.ย 

Responsibilities

  • Directly accountable for managing the software, hardware, and overall health of SoFi's network.ย 

  • Develop the multi-year networking architecture, strategy, and roadmap aimed at implementing an advanced network architecture to support SoFi's evolving business needs, inclusive of SoFi and its subsidiaries.ย 

  • In partnership with Corporate Infrastructure leadership, develop and implement standards, such as MDF layouts and rack elevations, across all of SoFi.ย 

  • Clearly define scope, objectives, key results, and develop a clear detailed plan for the execution of technical projects that are tightly aligned with business objectives.ย 

  • Foster a healthy and collaborative culture that embodies SoFi's values and continue to make SoFi one of the best places to work.ย 

Requirements

  • BS degree in a technical or engineering discipline or relevant years of experience.ย 

  • 12+ years of experience in network engineering, software, and distributed systems, including 6+ years managing high performance teams at scale.ย 

  • Technical experience in scaling a multi-vendor networking environment.ย 

  • Strong technical craft mastery and engineering disciplineย 

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to represent and explain complex business or technical concepts internally and externally.ย 

  • Technical aptitude to translate business needs into network engineering opportunities to drive strategic agendas.ย 

Preferred

  • Networking certifications (CCNP / CCDE, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, etc).ย 

  • Experience with automation tools (Terraform, Datadog, BackBox, Ansible etc).

  • Advanced knowledge of Global Protect and ZScaler VPN solutions.
