Dominion Hospital, the only freestanding mental health facility in Northern VA, is seeking an experienced Director of Infection Control & Employee Health to lead our infection prevention and employee health programs. In this key leadership role, you will oversee hospital-wide infection prevention initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance, promote a culture of safety, and manage employee health services to protect both patients and staff.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and oversee the hospital's Infection Prevention and Employee Health programs.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Conduct surveillance, analyze infection trends, and implement improvement initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA, CDC, state, and local regulations.

  • Lead investigations of healthcare-associated infections and recommend corrective actions.

  • Coordinate employee health services, including immunization programs, exposure follow-up, and return-to-work guidance.

  • Provide education and training to staff on infection prevention and employee health practices.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, department managers, and quality teams to improve patient safety.

  • Prepare reports, maintain required documentation, and participate in regulatory surveys and accreditation activities.

  • Serve as a clinical resource for infection prevention and employee health throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in VA required.

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or related healthcare field preferred.

  • Previous Infection Prevention experience in an acute care or hospital setting required.

  • Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) preferred or willingness to obtain.

  • Strong knowledge of CDC, OSHA, CMS, and Joint Commission standards.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Experience leading quality improvement initiatives and educating multidisciplinary teams.
