POSITION SCOPE:

Working to support GPI strategic and operational business objectives, this position exists to execute the manufacturing technology strategy and oversee the efforts of the mill and converting manufacturing IoT and IT teams. The Manufacturing Technology Director will work directly with business unit operational executives and managers to convert business objectives into actionable technology plans and projects. The director will also have direct responsibility to ensure the company's information and processes are functioning appropriately to support business unit operations. In addition, the director will work with the Corporate IT PMO office, IT Directors, VP of IT, and CIO to promote leveraging of all assets and processes to support GPI.

Our IT organization is transforming how we work at GPI. We collaborate with our business partners to deliver a digital cloud first approach, modern user experience with an engaged global team and secure enterprise.


Required Skills

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Principal Duties and Responsibilities:five to eight key responsibilities/activities for which the position is accountable:

  • Consult closely and develop a working relationship with manufacturing and supply chain management leads to support business plans and objectives through the identification, evaluation and prioritization of opportunities to leverage the Company's IT investment. The position will also work with the various business units to improve processes through improved utilization of information management. With the IT VP, CIO and the IT PMO office, work to develop and manage a strategic plan to utilize and develop actionable information in support of BU objectives and strategies.
  • Establish and oversee the various GPI project development and support functions and ensure effective and efficient procedures and programs according to the Corporate IT policies and strategies. For this purpose the position holder initiates, guides, organizes, plans and coordinates all activities at GPI in the manufacturing technology information management area including decisions regarding resource management and allocation, project planning and control, quality assurance, employee development and personnel issues.
  • Oversee GPI's transformation to drive innovation and manufacturing technology Modernization.
  • Lead Digital Manufacturing Technology teams to solve manufacturing facilities toughest problems, providing end-to-end support to ensure value is delivered and sustainable.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to co-develop strategic functional roadmaps and oversee the associated project portfolio.
  • Provide technical vision and leadership to ensure that current and new manufacturing processes are robust, efficient, and meet current quality and regulatory expectations
  • Regularly prepare management reports and participate in IT Steering Committee meetings as required.
  • Compile & manage the annual LRP CAPEX and OPEX budgets for this team.
  • Participate in M&A diligence and integration to integrate acquired business into the GPI technology stack
  • Manage an internal team of GPI resources to implement, support, enhance, and upgrade multiple core business systems
  • Build and sustain employee engagement by creating a culture of efficient execution and an environment in which individuals and teams can excel and continuously improve; establish an effective technical and leadership development plan for the manufacturing IT organization
  • Manage a dedicated team of on-shore and off-shore managed service resources in support of multiple core business systems
  • Work with internal audit, external audit, GPI IT Compliance, and management for both SOX and ITGC controls
  • Plan, manage, and provide strategy direction for technology for core GPI manufacturing business processes across multiple platforms
  • Plan and manage strategic reductions and optimizations of process complexity through standardization of underlying technology across multiple business platforms and business units

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: List minimum level of education, special training, certifications, or technical skills/experience required for this position.

  • Expert knowledge with at least 10 years experience in project management and implementation of large-scale business projects.
  • 10 years of experience leading innovation and strategic IT projects.
  • 10 years of management experience with direct reports
  • 5 or more years of experience with Enterprise-class manufacturing applications. Extensive experience as a business unit manager may also be considered. Experience with integrating manufacturing technology to ERP platforms is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams across the operations ecosystem within a complex, global matrixed organization and make decisions based on key business priorities.
  • Ability to lead multiple strategic initiatives under time and resource constraints, as well as the ability to deliver in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Substantial knowledge of business functions, processes and supporting technology in an industrial company. Specific business experience in operational and manufacturing technology platforms required
  • Position holder is experienced in the area of information and data management for manufacturing and operations process improvement. The Business Systems Director must have excellent communication abilities and is experienced in project management and leading teams.
  • Requires a thorough understanding of implementing manufacturing technology to improve operation business processes.
  • Influencing technology recommendations and decisions, ensuring investments are aligned with quality and regulatory objectives.
  • Build, lead, manage and develop a team of technical resources focused on manufacturing objectives, serving as technical resources or subject matter experts on the acquisition and use of related technologies
  • Working knowledge of OT (operational technology) networks and topology.
  • Working knowledge of various PLC and process control technologies
  • Experience in implementing SCADA technologies a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing and integrating various automation and robotic technologies, ie AGVs
  • Knowledge of environmental and health systems a plus.
  • Knowledge in implementing quality systems.
  • Experience in collaborating across the supply chain to improve process outcomes.
  • BS / BA degree from an accredited University in a quantitative or analytical field

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex business initiatives staffed with internal IT, contract and business unit resources. Has experience in both the technical and organizational change management components of projects. Understands and promotes standardized project methodologies, practices and standards.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Understands how to communicate in various circumstances and with varied audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple IT functions and manage direct-report employees including skills development, career development and performance management.
  • Up to 20% travel including international
