About the role

The Director of Pool & Beach provides strategic and operational leadership for all Pool, Beach, and Watersports operations. This role ensures the delivery of exceptional guest experiences that consistently exceed luxury hospitality standards while maximizing financial performance and operational efficiency.
As a senior leader, the Director acts as a brand ambassador of the resort, demonstrating integrity, style, and professionalism at all times. The position is responsible for developing departmental strategies, leading high-performing teams, maintaining safety and compliance, and ensuring alignment with brand, Forbes, and LQA standards.

What you will do

Strategic & Operational Leadership
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight of all Pool, Beach, and Watersports operations.
  • Develop and execute departmental goals aligned with the hotel's business strategy.
  • Ensure seamless day-to-day operations while maintaining a long-term vision for service excellence.
  • Monitor service standards, operational procedures, and guest satisfaction metrics.
  • Analyze performance data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee scheduling, programming, seasonal activations, and staffing strategies based on occupancy and revenue forecasts.
  • Ensure all recreational areas remain clean, safe, well-maintained, and brand-compliant.
  • Oversee setup and execution of beach events, private functions, wellness activations, and group experiences.
  • Ensure daily inspections of facilities and equipment are conducted and documented.
  • Maintain effective inventory management and procurement controls.
Guest Experience & Brand Excellence
  • Champion Forbes, LQA, and brand service standards, ensuring consistent execution.
  • Lead by example in delivering personalized, anticipatory luxury service.
  • Proactively resolve guest concerns and implement service recovery strategies.
  • Drive innovation in guest programming and recreational experiences.
  • Ensure seamless coordination of rentals, watersports activities, and billing processes.
Financial & Commercial Management
  • Develop and manage the departmental budget.
  • Drive revenue opportunities through programming, activations, and upselling initiatives.
  • Monitor payroll, productivity, and cost controls to maximize profitability.
  • Ensure proper asset management and capital planning.
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and revenue growth.
Leadership & Talent Development

Interdepartmental Collaboration
  • Maintain strong communication with F&B, Engineering, Housekeeping, Security, Events and People & Culture teams.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and capital improvement projects.
Health & Safety
  • Ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety regulations.
  • Maintain awareness of departmental risk assessments.
  • Ensure adherence to hotel fire, emergency, and natural disaster procedures.
  • Immediately report and document hazards, incidents, and accidents.

What you bring

  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in luxury hospitality.
  • Minimum 3-5 years in a senior management role overseeing Pool, Beach, Recreation, or Resort Operations.
  • Proven experience managing large teams and departmental budgets.
  • Strong background in beachfront, watersports, or resort recreational operations preferred.
  • Experience with Forbes and LQA standards strongly preferred.
