Position Overview

The primary duties of the Community Education Site Coordinator include, but are not be limited to, the direct oversight of the campus Community Education programs (Preschool, Legacy Kids Care (LKC), and Kindergarten Education Enrichment Program (KEEP)). The Community Education Site Coordinator will implement policies, manage staff and oversee daily operations of the Community Education programs. The Community Education Site Coordinator is the lead administrator of the programs and addresses concerns regarding staff and students. The Community Education Site Coordinator evaluates lead and assistant teachers, validates the curriculum and fidelity of the program, and ensures that the school meets all safety and compliance standards set by state law. The Community Education Site Coordinator performs administrative duties such as inventory ordering, safety compliance, staff evaluation, student discipline, duty scheduling, and parent relationships. Administration may establish added responsibilities that benefit the overall development of the Community Education program and campus program as a whole.

Essential Functions
  • Oversees all aspects of Community Education (Preschool, KEEP, LKC, Clubs, Vendors).

  • Monitors enrollment for LKC, KEEP and Preschool.

  • Serve as campus lead for Community Education programs.

  • Effectively communicates to all LKC & Preschool staff members regarding program updates.

  • Effectively communicates with parents regarding all aspects of the program.

  • Creates staff schedules reflecting current enrollment, maintaining a 30:1 child: staff ratio for LKC and a 13:1 child: staff ratio and/or a 15:1 child: staff ratio in Preschool.

  • Ensures all staff members have completed the Staff Member Approval form.

  • On-call for before or after school LKC & Preschool sessions.

  • Orders all snacks & lunches for programs accurately to eliminate waste of food on campus.

  • Conducts site validations to ensure that all implementation requirements align with the LTS mission, vision, and licensing.

  • Monitors and observes LKC activities to ensure staff members follow the AM and PM schedule.

  • Inventories and orders materials, resources, and supplies for daily activities for campus Community Education programs.

  • Ensures LKC and Preschool staff know procedures for lockdown, fire and discipline policies.

  • Ensures LKC and Preschool staff follows health and safety procedures established for the Legacy Kids Care program and Preschool program, to include; storage of medication, safety of facilities, lockdown/fire safety requirements and weather related (heat) concerns.

  • Manages discipline and brings concerns to the attention of the Assistant Principal, Preschool Program Coordinator, and Director of Community Education (if applicable).Manage and monitor enrollment paperwork to ensure each LKC, KEEP, and Preschool student has all state required emergency contact, medication, allergy/medical, and/or IEP information on file.

  • Trains all Preschool staff on site to perform essential job duties and to meet all licensing requirements.

  • Acts as direct supervisor for all Preschool staff including, but not limited to hiring, remediating, and dismissing staff.

  • Performs annual reviews for direct reports.

  • Advises administration on issues related to student services, staff concerns, and other issues affecting the success of the program.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Education, Licensure, or Certification

  • High School Diploma

  • Food Handler's Card/Certification

  • CPR/First Aid Certified

  • Present a recent (within 1 year) Negative TB Test

Required Work Experience or Related Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a child care/preschool setting.

  • Minimum of 2 years manager/supervisory experience in a childcare and/or preschool setting.

  • Minimum 1 year as a Legacy Traditional School employee preferred.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have the ability to interact positively with students, parents, teachers and administrators.

  • Experience with child care/after school programs, parent involvement, and curriculum development.

  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Excel, and other systems to track, summarize, and reportdata in a meaningful manner.

  • Ability to independently solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations.

  • Excellent organizational, computer, and communication skills.

  • Must have flexibility with scheduling in order to work hours necessary to fulfill job requirements.

  • Demonstrate a strong command over written and verbal communications, expertly disseminating information to a wide range of stakeholders and remaining diplomatic in all interactions.

  • Effectively manage relationships with students, teachers, staff, and parents to create meaningful memories and develop culture within our schools.

  • Eager for feedback and to learn and grow in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment

  • Managerial experience

  • The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check

  • Must be able to obtain and hold a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at all times
