Director of Mortgage Operations - Banking | $85-110K + Bonus | Direct Hire | Onsite
Location: Sioux City, Iowa

Job Description
Bring your mortgage operations leadership experience to an established financial organization where you can make a meaningful impact on people, processes, compliance, and the customer experience. We are seeking a Director of Mortgage Operations to lead day-to-day mortgage operational functions while supporting continued process improvement, team development, and regulatory excellence.
This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for someone who understands the full mortgage lifecycle and enjoys building strong teams, improving workflows, and solving operational challenges. If you have deep mortgage banking experience and a hands-on leadership style, this role offers the opportunity to influence both daily execution and long-term department success.

What You Will Do
  • Lead, coach, and develop mortgage operations staff
  • Manage performance reviews, hiring, training, and employee development
  • Review workflows and recommend process and system improvements
  • Oversee loan documentation, servicing, post-closing, and appraisal processes
  • Manage reporting, including pipeline, cycle-time, and closing metrics
  • Support Loan Originators and Processors with underwriting and closing issues
  • Provide secondary market support and implement investor guideline updates
  • Partner with compliance to maintain regulatory alignment
  • Review vendor invoices, reconciliations, and investor packets
  • Manage vendor oversight and annual risk, information security, and disaster recovery requirements
  • Support implementation of new mortgage products and programs
What You Need
  • Strong mortgage banking or mortgage operations experience
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of the residential mortgage loan lifecycle
  • Experience with servicing, post-closing, secondary market, and investor requirements
  • Understanding of mortgage compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across departments
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, banking, or related field, or equivalent experience
