Job description

The Director of Enterprise Applications is responsible for the strategy, governance, and operational leadership of the company's global enterprise application landscape. This role oversees the performance, support, and continuous improvement of business-critical platforms, including SAP ECC 6, CRM, business intelligence, process mining, AI-enabled business solutions, and other enterprise applications.

Reporting to the Vice President of Information Technology, the Director will lead a global team while managing key third-party technology partners to ensure reliable operations and successful delivery of strategic initiatives. A primary responsibility will be preparing the organization for a future migration to SAP S/4HANA while partnering closely with business leaders to optimize processes and leverage emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Applications Leadership

  • Lead the global Enterprise Applications function across multiple business units and international locations.
  • Develop and execute the enterprise applications roadmap aligned with business objectives.
  • Ensure high availability, security, performance, and continuous improvement of enterprise systems.
  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand operational needs and translate them into technology solutions.

SAP Leadership

  • Own the company's SAP environment and overall ERP strategy.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of outsourced SAP managed services while ensuring service level agreements and performance expectations are achieved.
  • Lead the internal SAP support organization located in the United States and India.
  • Drive governance around SAP enhancements, change management, release planning, and production support.
  • Develop and execute the company's roadmap for migration to SAP S/4HANA over the coming years.
  • Lead ERP implementation projects from planning through deployment while managing scope, budgets, timelines, risks, and vendor performance.

Business Applications & Digital Transformation

Provide strategic oversight for enterprise applications including:

  • CRM platforms
  • Business Intelligence and reporting solutions
  • Process mining platforms (Celonis)
  • Workflow and automation tools
  • AI-enabled business applications
  • Other enterprise software supporting global operations

Identify opportunities to leverage Artificial Intelligence and automation to improve operational efficiency, user productivity, and business decision-making.

Leadership & Vendor Management

  • Lead a global applications organization of approximately 10 team members located in the United States and India.
  • Manage the outsourced SAP support partner consisting of approximately seven consultants.
  • Coach, develop, and mentor technical staff while fostering a collaborative, customer-focused culture.
  • Manage relationships with software vendors, implementation partners, and consulting firms.
  • Establish performance metrics and ensure service delivery meets business expectations.

Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
  • Approximately 20-25 years of progressive IT experience, including significant enterprise applications leadership.
  • Extensive experience leading SAP ECC environments in complex global organizations.
  • Experience managing outsourced SAP support providers and global support organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large enterprise technology implementations and cross-functional projects.
  • Experience with enterprise business applications such as CRM, Business Intelligence, reporting platforms, and workflow solutions.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and change management principles.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Experience managing globally distributed teams.

Preferred

  • Experience leading or participating in SAP S/4HANA migration programs.
  • Experience with AI technologies and practical business applications of Artificial Intelligence.
  • Experience with Celonis or other process mining platforms.
