Job description

Position Highlights

Join a dynamic enrollment team dedicated to helping students achieveRIT's enrollment goals. In this role, you will build relationships with prospective students and families, develop and implement recruitment strategies, evaluate applications for admission, and collaborate with academic and campus partners to support enrollment growth. This position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact onthe institution'sstudent recruitment effortswhile representing the university through outreach, counseling, and admissions decision-making.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Counsels prospective applicants about the admission process and potential for admission. Conducts appointments primarily in-person, but also by phone or electronic means
  • Collaborates with appropriate university departments and external organizations as needed, to facilitate admission and enrollment fulfillment for students while also meeting department and college enrollment goals
  • Plans and implements recruitment activities for assigned territories, maximizing enrollment interests as identified by established enrollment goals. Works in collaboration with enrollment leadership, enrollment marketing, and academic stakeholders
  • Executes recruiting tactics to move prospective students through the enrollment pipeline
  • Conducts outreach to students, parents, and school counselors regarding candidate applications for admission when additional information is needed
  • Analyzes prospective student applications with consideration of a multitude of factors, and by referencing probability-to-succeed research to assist with the admission decision-making process
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of enrollment management, student recruitment and admissions, and higher education
  • Skill in counseling, presentation, written and verbal communication
  • Skill in multi-tasking, project management, prioritization, and organization
  • Ability to learn state and federal laws and ethical principles of practice as outlined by the national association of college admissions counselors
  • Ability to use technology, including system applications and platforms, to document, track, and support department operations

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 3 years of relevant experience
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered

Specialized Contributor Level 2 - A fully functional role requiring established knowledge of the profession or field of work. Responsible for completing substantive assignments and projects. Problems are varied and non-routine, and resolution requires exercising judgment, analysis, advisement, creativity, and understanding broader sets of issues.
