Associate Director of Insights & Optimization

Cooley is seeking an Associate Director of Insights & Optimizationto join the Marketing and Client Developmentteam.

Position responsibilities:

  • Enterprise Analytics Strategy:Define the firm's overarching measurement framework,establishinghigh-value KPIs that link Marketing & Client Development activities to firm-wide growth and practice revenue.

  • Democratized Dashboard Strategy:Lead the vision and architectural build of a democratized dashboard ecosystem, ensuring that self-service data tools are intuitive, accessible, and designed to empower MCD stakeholders with real-time, actionable insights.

  • Audience Architecture & Governance:Lead the strategy for audience segmentation and lifecycle modeling, ensuring the firm has a unified, governed approach to how we define and target clients.

  • Executive Data Storytelling:Act as the primary "MCD Data SME" for leadership, translating complex analytical findings into clear, high-impact narratives that inform strategic pivots.

  • Team & Resource Leadership:Direct a team of analysts and oversee the offshore delivery model, ensuring high-velocity reporting output without sacrificing strategic depth.

  • Cross-Functional Alignment:Partner across teams to align their specific goals with the firm's central data-backed frameworks.

  • Optimization Framework Development:Architect the "Optimization Guidance" model,establishingthe process by which the MCD uses performance data to reallocate spend and resources or report out on campaign efficacy.

  • Data Stewardship & Ethics:Oversee the integrity of the MCD data ecosystem, ensuring compliance with firm-wide standards while maximizing the utility of data.

  • MarTechRoadmap Integration:Serve as a key stakeholder in the evolution of the firm's data lake and BI tools (e.g., Tableau,PowerBI, CRM analytics), ensuring the stack supports advanced attribution.

  • Impact Reporting:Own the delivery of "enmasse" and bespoke reporting,demonstratingthe holistic impact of the MCD organization on the firm's market position and pipeline.

  • People Leader:

  • Serve as direct supervisor and mentor to direct reports

  • Provide day-to-day supervision of direct reports, ensure compliance with assigned workhoursandmonitor forcompliance with all firm and department policies. Manage staffing coverage,reviewand process time logs/time off requests

  • Support business professional development and continued educational opportunities

  • In collaboration with immediate supervisor and central HR,participatein hiring, performance appraisals, counseling,terminationand other employee lifecycle events

  • All other duties as assigned orrequired

Skills and experience:

Required:

  • After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibitproficiencyin the Microsoft Office suite,iManageand other firm applications

  • Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, asrequired

  • Ability to travel, asrequired

  • 8+ years of applicable experience in the field(e.g.,marketing or business development, preferably with an emphasis workingin a strategy, transformation, or growthfunction),with 4+years management experience(some at the senior level preferred)

  • Hands-on experience in audience segmentation strategy and creation, including advanced reporting, querying, and cross-filter logic in CRM, MAP, and orchestration technologies

  • Basic to advanced data manipulation,analysisand visualization skills (e.g.advanced Excel skills, SQL,PowerBI)

  • Ability to deliver business-focused insights and data storytelling toxFunctionalstakeholders

  • Bachelor's Degree

The expected annual pay range for this position with a full-time schedule is $200,000 - $240,000. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
