Labor & Employment Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Labor Associate Attorney to join a prestigious Am Law firm in Anchorage, AK; Los Angeles, CA; Portland, OR; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney with 4-6 years of traditional labor and employment experience to join a nationally recognized Labor, Employment & Immigration practice. The successful candidate will represent employers in sophisticated labor relations matters, workplace disputes, and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board while working closely with a collaborative team.

Responsibilities
  • Advise and represent employers in traditional labor matters, including union organizing campaigns, collective bargaining, grievance and arbitration proceedings, unfair labor practice charges, and labor-management disputes.

  • Represent clients in proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, motions, briefs, and other advocacy materials.

  • Counsel employers on labor relations and workplace compliance issues.

  • Collaborate with attorneys across offices on complex labor and employment matters.

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through practical, business-focused legal advice.

  • Contribute to business development initiatives, client alerts, and thought leadership opportunities.

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

  • Active membership in a U.S. state bar.

  • 4-6 years of labor and employment experience.

  • Experience representing employers in traditional labor matters and labor relations.

  • Prior experience handling matters before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

  • Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary:

    • Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA: $225,000-$330,000

    • Portland, OR: $215,000-$315,000

    • Anchorage, AK: $158,000-$258,000
