Job Description
Kroll is seeking a strategic, delivery-focused Senior Director to lead its Sensitive Data Review (SDR) and Data Mining Service. This role is a critical component of Kroll's breach response lifecycle, supporting clients in identifying, reviewing, and reporting sensitive data exposures. The Director will oversee operational execution, manage vendor and ecosystem partner relationships, and drive the advancement of Kroll's proprietary methodologies and review protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of SDR and data mining engagements, ensuring quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction.
  • Oversee intake, triage, ingestion, and manual review workflows using platforms like Relativity, ensuring adherence to best practices and efficiency standards.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to solve complex data challenges, recommending optimal workflows and tools.
  • Deliver regular portfolio updates to Discovery Solutions leadership, including project status, risks, and margin performance.
  • Communicate effectively with all project stakeholders, including clients, outside counsel, and internal teams, maintaining alignment with insurers, DFIR, and Breach Notification teams.
  • Build and develop a high-performing team through recruitment, mentoring, and continuous skill development.

Vendor & Ecosystem Management
  • Manage relationships with ecosystem partners, including onboarding, performance monitoring, and process improvement.
  • Ensure partner alignment with Kroll's infrastructure, including secure remote access and exclusive use of Kroll-hosted environments.
  • Coordinate offshore and onshore review resources, balancing cost, quality, and client preferences.
  • Manage quoting and pricing processes for SDR engagements, ensuring timely and accurate responses to client opportunities.

Methodology Development
  • Develop and enhance Kroll's SDR methodologies, including hybrid approaches combining programmatic data mining with manual review.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to standardize deliverables, integrate breach notification workflows, and strengthen review protocols for intellectual property and privileged content.
  • Lead innovation initiatives leveraging generative AI and automation within Kroll's Azure-hosted Relativity environment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with DFIR and Breach Notification teams to ensure cohesive breach response strategies.
  • Drive internal alignment across data breach teams to streamline operations, reporting, and client communications.

Essential Traits & Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in breach response, data mining, or sensitive data review operations.
  • Strong vendor management skills, including onboarding and performance oversight.
  • Advanced technical ability to analyze structured and unstructured data sets.
  • Expertise in regulatory compliance and data privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
  • Familiarity with Relativity, Azure-hosted environments, and AI-enhanced review tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to engage clients, outside counsel, and internal leadership.
  • Prior leadership experience in a delivery-focused role, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
