Job description

About Recovery Centers of Montana
Recovery Centers of Montana (RCM) provides compassionate, evidence-based substance use disorder treatment across multiple ASAM levels of residential care. Our Ranch and Lodge programs serve adults seeking lasting recovery in structured, clinically supported environments. We are expanding our medical infrastructure and looking for skilled RNs who want to grow with us.
Position Summary
RCM is hiring two Staff Registered Nurses - one dedicated to RCM Ranch and one dedicated to RCM Lodge. Each nurse serves as the primary on-site medical resource for their assigned facility, responsible for medication management, health monitoring, nursing assessments, and medical coordination. The two nurses will work collaboratively to ensure consistent medical standards across both locations. As RCM develops higher ASAM levels of care, both positions are designed to evolve into lead clinical nursing roles.
Open Positions:
  • Staff RN - RCM Ranch, 390 Hodgson Rd, Columbia Falls, MT 59912
  • Staff RN - RCM Lodge, 9549 US Route 2, Martin City, MT 59926
Primary Responsibilities
Medication Management
  • Serve as the primary medication manager for your assigned RCM facility
  • Administer, document, and monitor all client medications in compliance with physician-approved protocols and Montana scope-of-practice standards
  • Conduct medication reconciliation at admission, throughout the client stay, and at discharge
  • Maintain accurate and compliant medication records in the Alleva EHR system
  • Support medication-assisted treatment (MAT) protocols in coordination with the Medical Director or prescribing provider

Health Monitoring & Nursing Assessment
  • Complete nursing assessments at or near the time of each client admission
  • Monitor clients for signs of withdrawal, medical distress, or acute behavioral health concerns using standardized tools (CIWA-Ar, COWS)
  • Escalate medical concerns promptly to the on-call physician, NP, or PA per established protocols

Clinical Coordination
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for medical needs at your assigned facility
  • Contribute medical perspective to individualized treatment planning (ITP) and participate in treatment team meetings
  • Coordinate referrals and communication with outside medical providers, labs, and pharmacies
  • Collaborate with the RN at the sister facility to maintain consistent medical standards across RCM

Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain timely, accurate nursing documentation in Alleva EHR consistent with ASAM standards and Montana Medicaid requirements
  • Ensure nursing documentation supports billing integrity for ASAM residential levels of care
  • Comply with all DPHHS licensing requirements, physician-approved protocols, and RCM policies and procedures

Requirements
Qualifications
Required:
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Montana, or eligibility under the Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC)

  • Demonstrated experience with MAT and SUD pharmacology (buprenorphine, naltrexone, Vivitrol, clonidine, etc.)
  • Proficiency with CIWA-Ar and COWS withdrawal assessment tools
  • Strong clinical documentation skills with EHR experience
  • Ability to work independently with sound clinical judgment and minimal direct supervision
  • Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)

Preferred:
  • Experience in a residential or inpatient SUD or behavioral health setting
  • Working knowledge of ASAM Criteria and residential levels of care
  • Experience with Alleva EHR or comparable behavioral health EHR platforms
