Registered Nurse - Newborn Nursery (Night Shift)
Location
Austin, Texas
Schedule / Job Type
Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Rotating Weekends | No Call Requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to newborn patients in a 40-bed Newborn Nursery unit on the night shift
  • Maintain patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6 while delivering safe, high-quality care
  • Perform unit-specific procedures including circumcisions
  • Utilize EMR systems (CPN and Meditech) to document patient care accurately
  • Collaborate with charge nurses, fellow RNs, and support staff as an active team member
  • Adapt quickly to changing patient needs and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum of 1 year of Newborn Nursery or NICU experience
  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a high-paced clinical setting
  • Strong team-oriented work ethic
  • Willingness to work rotating weekends
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • More than 2 years of Newborn Nursery or NICU experience
  • Prior travel nursing experience
  • Familiarity with CPN and/or Meditech EMR systems
