§ Title: Lead Catastrophic Injury & Medical Malpractice Trial Counsel

§ Practice Area: Plaintiff-Side Medical Malpractice / Complex Birth Injury Litigation

§ Location: Atlanta, Georgia (Hybrid flexibility with regional and national travel)

§ Salary: $180,000 to $220,000 Base Salary

(On-Target Earnings of $210,000 to $280,000 via an uncapped case-based commission structure, plus comprehensive benefits and a transitional bridge bonus)

§ Schedule:

Full-time, Direct-Hire, No Billables

§ The Firm:

Our client is a premier, mission-driven plaintiff's boutique law firm based in Atlanta, recognized for its exceptional advocacy in high-stakes, low-volume birth injury and catastrophic medical malpractice litigation. Fostering a highly collaborative, sophisticated, and close-knit team environment comprised of elite trial attorneys, dedicated paralegals, and in-house labor and delivery nurse consultants, the firm has experienced significant strategic growth over the past year.

Distinguished not only by its multi-million dollar case resolutions but also by its profound civic commitment, the firm donates five percent of its attorney fees to advocacy organizations supporting families with special needs and maternal health initiatives. This exceptional platform offers direct mentorship from a renowned leader in birth injury law and an accelerated, structured pathway to first-chair trial leadership without the constraints of traditional law firm politics.

§ Duties:

The incoming Senior Trial Counsel will assume immediate ownership of a sophisticated portfolio of complex, document-heavy birth injury matters from initial intake through final resolution. This role is designed for a consummate litigator eager to transition from second-chair support to primary first-chair trial operations under elite mentorship.

Daily responsibilities and operational expectations include:

⨖ Managing comprehensive pre-litigation and active litigation strategies for high-value obstetric and neonatal malpractice cases.

⨖ Conducting and defending highly technical depositions of medical experts, treating physicians, and corporate defendants, necessitating regular travel approximately three to four times per month.

⨖ Collaborating extensively with internal medical nurse consultants and external medical experts to analyze complex electronic fetal monitoring strips, labor and delivery records, and neurological evaluations to build definitive liability and causation theories.

⨖ Formulating persuasive pleadings, substantive motions, and sophisticated mediation briefs, while maintaining compassionate, high-touch communication with client families traversing profound hardships. ⨖ Serving as lead or co-counsel during trial proceedings, orchestrating courtroom strategy, examining witnesses, and presenting compelling arguments to juries.

§ Qualifications:

Candidates must demonstrate extensive experience in high-severity tort litigation and the technical acumen required to manage complex medical proof.

⨖ Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school with an outstanding academic record.

⨖ Active Bar Membership in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.

⨖ Seven to ten or more years of intensive, sophisticated litigation experience specializing in medical malpractice, catastrophic personal injury, or wrongful death.

⨖ Documented track record of independently taking and defending expert medical depositions.

⨖ Proven readiness or demonstrated capability to act as first-chair trial counsel in complex civil jury trials.

§ Skills:

The following credentials and attributes are highly preferred to ensure immediate integration and long-term success within the practice: ⨖ Direct experience handling obstetric, gynecological, or neonatal injury litigation. ⨖ Profound capacity for medical record synthesis, with a deep understanding of labor and delivery protocols or neurological birth trauma. ⨖ Exceptional interpersonal skills characterized by genuine empathy, emotional intelligence, and dedication to client advocacy. ⨖ Demonstrated alignment with a mission-driven organizational culture and a collaborative, non-siloed approach to case development. ⨖ High degree of adaptability and professional autonomy to effectively manage frequent travel schedules and rigorous trial preparation.
