The Madison-Champaign Educational Service Center is seeking a compassionate and dependable School Nurse to join our team at Mac-A-Cheek Learning Center in Bellefontaine, Ohio. The School Nurse supports the emotional, mental, physical, and social well-being of students while helping create a safe and healthy learning environment. This position works collaboratively with staff, families, and outside providers to support student success.
Ideal candidates are organized, flexible, team-oriented, and committed to building positive relationships with students and staff while leading with a servant's heart.
Position Details
  • Location: Mac-A-Cheek Learning Center - Bellefontaine, Ohio
  • Position Type: Full-Time
  • Schedule: School-Year Position
  • Start Date: August 10, 2026

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care and first aid to students and staff as needed
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and district policies
  • Monitor and manage student health concerns, including chronic medical conditions
  • Maintain accurate student health records, documentation, and immunization compliance
  • Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and communicate with families as needed
  • Collaborate with administrators, teachers, related service staff, and families to support student health and educational needs
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individualized health care plans and emergency care plans
  • Promote a safe and healthy school environment through health education and preventative care
  • Ensure compliance with state laws, district procedures, and nursing standards

Qualifications
  • Current Ohio RN License required
  • Ohio Department of Education permit/licensure or the ability to obtain upon hire
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Previous pediatric, school, or special education experience preferred

Minimum Requirements
  • Satisfactory results on criminal background checks
  • Strong attendance record
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
