Credence has an immediate opening for a Linux Administrator to support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Enterprise Sourcing, Medical and Contingency (ESMC) Portfolio Hosting Support contract. This role will be responsible for administering, maintaining, and securing Linux-based systems supporting enterprise-level logistics and IT services in a mission-critical environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to ...

  • Collaborate with a large team of Cloud Engineers, Solutions Architects, and Cybersecurity Professionals to manage and modernize workloads in the cloud.
  • Troubleshoot complex problemsand design and implement solutions.
  • Build automation to eliminate mundane tasks.
  • Document any developed processes and procedures.

Linux System Administration

  • Administer, configure, and maintain RHEL server environments
  • Ensure system availability, performance, and reliability across enterprise infrastructure

System Maintenance & Patching

  • Perform system patching, updates, and configuration management in accordance with government and enterprise security requirements
  • Maintain baseline configurations and ensure compliance with security standards (e.g., STIGs)

User & Access Management

  • Manage Linux user accounts, permissions, and access controls
  • Support identity and access management processes in secure environments

Troubleshooting & Operational Support

  • Diagnose and resolve system, application, and access-related issues in a timely manner
  • Provide Tier II/III technical support for Linux environments

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls aligned with federal standards and RMF requirements
  • Support vulnerability scanning, patch remediation, and continuous monitoring activities

Virtualization & Infrastructure Support

  • Support virtualized Linux environments and enterprise platforms (e.g., VMware, cloud-based infrastructure)
  • Assist with provisioning, deployment, and sustainment of systems

Configuration Management & Documentation

  • Participate in change management processes and maintain accurate system documentation
  • Ensure all changes are tracked and compliant with Government-directed processes

Requirements

  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain a public trust
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration in enterprise or government environments
  • Current CompTIA Security+ Certification or ability to obtain it in the first 60 days
  • Current AWS Certification or ability to obtain it in the first 90 days
  • Ability to work and produce results in an agile and fast-paced environment with dynamic deadlines
  • Experience with automation/scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible)
  • Experience with:
    • Linux OS (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
    • System patching, configuration management, and troubleshooting
    • User account and access management
    • Virtualization platforms and/or cloud infrastructure
    • Networking fundamentals and system performance tuning
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, including:
    • STIG implementation and vulnerability remediation

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DLA, DoD, or federal enterprise IT environments
  • Strong AWS skills
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloud Formation)
  • Proficiency with containerization in the cloud (EKS, ECS, Fargate)
  • Familiarity with RMF (Risk Management Framework) processes
  • Experience supporting enterprise service management or logistics systems
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, RHCSA/RHCE, AWS, etc.)
