Job description

Job Title: Life Science Sales Engineer FLSA Status: Exempt

Department: Commercial / Sales

Reports to: VP, Life Science Sales

Location: 4 Sunshine Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL 32174

Work Schedule: Remote with training plan, Hybrid or Ormond Beach, FL (travel required; territory-based candidates considered)

Job Overview:

Germfree is repositioning from a facilities and equipment manufacturer to a full-solution life science infrastructure integrator, spanning interior cleanroom components, modular facility systems, and manufacturing equipment including isolator technology and containment systems. The Life Science Sales Engineer is a technical, consultative sales role responsible for identifying, developing, and closing opportunities across this expanded solution set with pharmaceutical, biotech, and advanced therapy manufacturers. This individual will serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers navigating complex facility, equipment, and GMP compliance decisions, and will play a central role in translating Germfree's platform strategy into revenue.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Prospect and develop new business across life science manufacturers, CDMOs, and advanced therapy organizations, building and managing a qualified pipeline from first contact through close.
  • Package and sell integrated solutions that combine interior cleanroom components (including Arcoplast wall, ceiling, and modular panel systems), modular facility solutions, and manufacturing equipment such as isolators and containment systems into a single customer-facing offering.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for prospects and customers, translating facility and process requirements into scoped, buildable solutions in partnership with engineering and operations.
  • Lead technical discovery, site assessments, and solution design conversations with customer engineering, quality, and operations stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver proposals, budgetary estimates, and statements of work that reflect accurate scope across components, modular systems, equipment, and associated GMP services.
  • Partner with the service team to identify and sell attached service opportunities (commissioning, qualification, and ongoing support).
  • Build and maintain relationships with key accounts, channel partners, and industry contacts to support a durable, repeatable pipeline rather than one-off transactional sales.
  • Represent Germfree at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer site visits.
  • Maintain disciplined CRM hygiene and pipeline reporting consistent with Germfree's commercial operating cadence.
  • Provide voice-of-customer input to product, engineering, and strategy teams to inform the ongoing integrator platform build-out.

Required Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, life sciences, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Demonstrated success selling or specifying capital equipment and/or facilities solutions into life science, pharmaceutical, or biotech manufacturing environments.
  • Working knowledge of GMP manufacturing and operations, including how facility design, equipment, and process requirements intersect.
  • Ability to read and work from facility drawings, process flow diagrams, and equipment specifications in customer-facing technical discussions.
  • Strong consultative selling skills, with the ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles from prospecting through close.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal development and executive-level presentation ability.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% or more, including to customer manufacturing sites.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Direct experience selling or specifying high-containment systems, isolators, or barrier technology.
  • Prior experience selling modular or prefabricated cleanroom or facility solutions.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom interior component systems (wall, ceiling, and panel systems).
  • Existing relationships within pharmaceutical manufacturing, CDMO, or advanced therapy (cell and gene) customer bases.
  • Experience packaging multi-scope proposals that combine equipment, facility, and services into a single integrated offer.
  • Familiarity with GMP-related field services such as commissioning, qualification, or validation support.
  • Prior experience in a scaling or private-equity-backed manufacturing environment.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Within the first year, this individual will have built a qualified, multi-solution pipeline; closed integrated opportunities spanning components, modular facilities, and equipment; and established Germfree as a consultative, single-source partner for life science facility and manufacturing infrastructure decisions.
