The Specialty Materials segment manufactures products that provide more than 150 material formulations for glass, glass ceramics and fluoride crystals to meet demand for unique customer needs. Consequently, this segment operates in a wide variety of commercial and industrial markets that include display optics and components, semiconductor optics components, aerospace and defense, astronomy, ophthalmic products, telecommunications components and cover glass that is optimized for portable display devices.

SCOPE/PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Product Line Manager, Laser Optics, is responsible for the overall strategy, execution, and business success for Laser Optics products, customers, and projects in our Semiconductor Technologies and Solutions (STS) business. By leveraging deep commercial acumen, technical understanding, and cross-functional leadership skills, the PLM ensures that offerings in these segments are well-positioned for growth, revenue success, and market differentiation.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
   Supports the strategy and execution on the 4Ps (product, price, placement and promotion) for the respective product line
   Supports the product line planning process including the product line strategy, including the identification of critical projects to be undertaken for the year.  
   Addresses new product/special requests by developing a business canvas, including financials, to advocate for the creation of a new product family or program within their product line scope 
   Works with Sales to develop and execute a pricing strategy by setting floor pricing as needed, influencing pricing structure, optimizing product premiums, and ensuring value and profitability for product line.  
   Develop short and long-term forecasting plans for their segments by working closely with sales, marketing intelligence and the commercial operations forecasting manager  
   Works to create an intellectual property and standards strategy for the product line.  
   Understand downstream market requirements and assess competitive threats and implications for the business working closely with the Market Intelligence team 
   Works with Program Management and/or Sales to approve quotes and new products, as appropriate.   
   Identifies the best mix for their market(s) through effective segmentation and portfolio rationalization.  
   Works with Manufacturing and Sales to identify opportunities to reduce complexity and cost reduction in the manufacturing process both at Corning plant(s) and the customer site, as appropriate. 
   Manages the obsolescence process, as necessary, to extract maximum value through the end of the product lifecycle.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
   Leads a cross-functional business teams (such as Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, etc.) to develop and execute growth, performance improvement, and cost-reduction strategies (and works closely with market intelligence, marcomm, legal, IP, and HR as needed):
   Own the product lifecycle management of products-including portfolio strategy, revenue and demand forecasting, commercialization, and phase-out decisions.
   Primary point of contact with key customers and project teams, championing customer requirements across the organization and engaging in operational or technical escalations as needed to drive positive outcomes and timely resolutions.
   Develop, manage, and deliver on financial plans-including annual and quarterly demand and revenue forecasts, pricing strategies, and profitability targets for assigned products.
   Define and communicate compelling value propositions for new product initiatives based on market insights, customer feedback, and technology trends for the product line's application 
   Identify, prioritize, and champion new business opportunities; collaborate closely with Sales to build go-to-market strategies and detailed execution plans to win target programs.
   Collaborate with Development & Engineering (D&E) teams, providing business requirements, prioritization, and justification for resource allocation and budget spend to support current and future business needs.
   Monitor market trends, competitive offerings, and emerging technologies to inform product strategies and ensure Corning's competitive advantage.
   Work with operations partners to optimize inventory management, supply continuity, delivery performance, and overall product quality.
   Identify and drive improvements in cost structure, lead time, and product performance.
   Lead or participate in Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (IBP) discussions and resolve supply chain disruptions and escalations in alignment with global priorities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
   Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, business, or related field required.
   Demonstrated 8+ years of relevant experience in product management, business development, technical marketing, or related roles within technology-driven industries. 
   Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed, global organization.
   Proven track record of developing and executing strategic business plans, managing complex customer relationships, and delivering on revenue, margin, and growth targets.
   Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; able to distill and articulate sophisticated value propositions to both technical and commercial audiences.
   Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
   Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with multiple competing priorities.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
   MBA or equivalent advanced commercial degree highly preferred.
   Semiconductor industry knowledge is a plus.

The range for this position is  $148,181.00 - $203,749.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
