Job Summary:
The Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach assists the Head Lacrosse Coach in running a highly successful NAIA lacrosse program. Perform job duties in accordance with Columbia College’s vision, mission, and values, and contribute to the development of the Athletic Department. Maintain the integrity of the athletic program through the knowledge and application of NAIA rules and regulations. As a Recruitment Assistant, the position will also be responsible for recruiting prospective students by conducting effective direct outreach, coordinating recruiting events, visiting high schools, junior/community colleges, military installations, or business partners, attending college fairs, and providing group and individual information sessions and presentations where possible.
Assist the Head men's lacrosse coach in all day-to-day operations of the program including, but not limited to, the following tasks:
  • Identification of potential student-athletes, recruitment of qualified student-athletes, and maintenance of recruitment files.
  • Organization and coordination of daily practice plans.
  • Game day preparations include field set-up and break-down, uniform and equipment preparation, game plan preparation, warm-up activities, and game evaluation.
  • Inventory management of uniforms and equipment and input into purchasing decisions on new equipment.
  • Video operations and analysis.
  • Scouting of opponents.
  • Monitoring and supervision of student-athletes, including athletic activities, academic progress, eligibility concerns, and disciplinary issues.
  • Work effectively with students, student-athletes, administrators, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, officials, and coaching peers.
  • Be active in department-wide fundraising activities and related professional duties.
  • Practice superior customer service.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Display respect and civility to all constituencies regardless of the method of communication.
  • Attend work timely and during the established hours of operation regularly; work additional hours as business necessitates.
As a Recruitment Assistant, this position will assist the admissions office in student recruitment, including performing the following tasks:
  • Direct student outreach will be conducted using phone, email, and SMS through the college CRM system.
  • Develop, analyze, and disseminate thorough reports, tracking the progress and status of travel amp; prospective students through our CRM.
  • Maintain and document all calls, emails, texts, and other interactions with prospects/applicants/students according to departmental procedures in the CRM (and/or other applicable databases).
  • The Recruitment Assistant will be expected to build and maintain positive relationships with students and referral partners to increase enrollment yield.
  • Other duties include basic counseling on financial aid and cost, analyzing territory trends, serving as a resource connection point, and serving on the appropriate graduation team for the assigned territory.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Previous coaching and recruiting experience.
Preferred Education/Experience:
  • Masters Degree
  • 2-4 years of college or high school coaching experience
  • Experience with film and scouting reports
  • Experience with Photoshop amp; Creating Graphics
