About the Role
The Director of Sales is a senior commercial leadership role responsible for driving total hotel revenue through strategic oversight of the Group, Corporate, Leisure, and Entertainment sales segments at Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. This role is ideal for an accomplished, commercially minded sales leader with prior Director of Sales or Associate Director of Sales experience, preferably within a luxury hotel environment. The successful candidate will bring a sophisticated understanding of luxury sales strategy, revenue optimization, team leadership, and client relationship management, with the ability to operate confidently in a complex and highly competitive Los Angeles market.
As a key member of the Commercial leadership team, the Director of Sales will partner closely with the Commercial Director, Revenue Management, Marketing, Catering, Conference Services, and Operations to ensure all sales efforts are aligned with the hotel's broader business objectives. This individual will be responsible for leading a seasoned and tenured sales team, providing strategic direction, coaching, accountability, and inspiration to drive both individual and collective performance. The role requires a polished, proactive, and results-oriented leader who can balance long-term strategic planning with daily execution, while representing the Four Seasons brand with excellence, credibility, and commercial discipline.
Key Responsibilities
• Sales Leadership & Commercial Strategy
Lead and oversee all sales activities for the hotel, ensuring strategies are focused on driving profitable revenue across all business segments. Translate the hotel's commercial priorities into clear, actionable sales plans that maximize group, transient, entertainment, corporate, and high-value account opportunities.
• Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and inspire a tenured, high-performing sales team. Provide clear direction, performance accountability, mentorship, and ongoing development to ensure each team member is achieving individual goals while contributing to the broader commercial success of the hotel.
Revenue Optimization
Partner closely with Revenue Management and the Commercial Director to align sales strategies with demand patterns, pricing opportunities, market conditions, and total hotel revenue objectives. Ensure group and account strategies are thoughtfully balanced with transient demand to maximize overall profitability.
• Market Leadership & Business Development
Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities while protecting and growing existing key accounts. Maintain a strong presence in the luxury hospitality, corporate, entertainment, leisure, and group markets, ensuring the hotel remains top of mind with clients, agencies, partners, and industry influencers.
Client Relationship Management
Build and maintain meaningful relationships with key clients and stakeholders. Lead strategic negotiations with confidence and sophistication, balancing client needs with the hotel's revenue goals, brand standards, and long-term positioning.
Forecasting, Reporting & Performance Management
Oversee sales forecasting, production tracking, pace analysis, and performance reporting. Provide thoughtful insights and recommendations to the Commercial Director and hotel leadership team, ensuring sales activity is aligned with forecast, budget, and market opportunities.
Annual Planning & Goal Setting
Support the development of the annual Commercial Plan, including segment strategies, account deployment, sales goals, incentive structures, and key action plans. Ensure goals are clearly communicated, understood, and executed across the sales team.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner effectively with Marketing, Revenue Management, Catering, Conference Services, Rooms, Food & Beverage, and Operations to ensure a seamless approach to business generation, conversion, and execution. Serve as a strong internal advocate for both the client experience and the hotel's commercial priorities.
Operational Excellence
Oversee the daily rhythm of the sales department, including team meetings, deployment, account reviews, site experiences, client engagement, and follow-up standards. Ensure the sales team operates with structure, urgency, professionalism, and brand-level excellence.
Qualifications
Ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience as a Director of Sales or Associate Director of Sales, preferably within a luxury hotel, resort, or complex urban market. Prior experience leading an established sales team is strongly preferred.
Luxury Hospitality Background
Experience within a luxury hospitality environment is highly preferred, with a strong understanding of elevated client expectations, brand positioning, high-touch relationship management, and premium market dynamics.
Leadership
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a tenured team in a high-performance environment. Must be confident managing experienced sellers, setting clear expectations, driving accountability, and creating a culture of collaboration and results.
Commercial Acumen
Strong understanding of sales strategy, revenue management, market segmentation, pricing, forecasting, and business mix optimization. Ability to connect sales activity directly to overall hotel performance and
profitability.
Sales Expertise
Demonstrated success in account management, prospecting, negotiation, business development, and closing high-value opportunities. Strong knowledge of group, corporate, entertainment, leisure, and luxury market segments is preferred.
Executive Presence
Polished communication style with the ability to represent the hotel and the Four Seasons brand confidently with clients, ownership, senior leaders, and internal stakeholders.
Results Orientation
Highly proactive, competitive, and solution-focused, with the ability to adjust strategies based on market conditions, performance data, and changing business needs.

Education
