About the Role:
The Account Director, Media Relations (Contract) is a part-time hybrid role located in Boston, MA, with flexibility for some remote work. The Account Director will lead media relations initiatives on several key accounts in the agency’s client roster of both government, public and private life science enterprises. The successful candidate will have proven national and evolving international media expertise in strategy development and execution. 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute public relations and media strategies as well as campaigns for healthcare clients in both private and public sectors
  • Create and maintain relationships with media outlets
  • Develop and implement media angles and run a newsroom style campaign
  • Write press releases, media advisories, and other materials
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase storytelling 
  • Manage crisis communications
  • Create media content 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
  • 5-10 years related experience with supervisory skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the healthcare industry and government organizations required.
  • Strong knowledge of media trends and digital media.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be located within commuting distance of Boston, willing to work 3 days a week in the office and 2 days remote.
