Job description

Our Opportunity:

Chewy’s Corporate Risk & Insurance team is seeking a Risk Analyst – Corporate Risk & Insurance to support its growing portfolio of insurance and risk responsibilities. This newly created position is vital to providing essential administrative and operational support across the department, enabling the team to effectively manage its complex insurance portfolio, oversee claims, maintain regulatory insurance compliance, and scale risk management processes in line with business growth.

What you’ll do:

Insurance Administration & Policy Support

  • Coordinate the administration of our insurance policies, including endorsements, renewals, and policy maintenance.
  • Maintain an accurate location schedule and statement of values for insured property.
  • Manage issuance of certificates of insurance and auto ID cards and ensure compliance posting notices are current.
  • Assist with insurance policy audits and ensure insurance program documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Maintain and update the insurance policy schedule and support accurate renewal data collection for renewal cycles.

Claims & Reporting

  • Collect, review, and report claims from internal business units to the third-party claims’ administrator or appropriate insurers.
  • Track and document claims to support resolution and trend analysis.
  • Assist in preparing internal risk reports and dashboards for leadership and departmental use.

Financial & Compliance Support

  • Process insurance-related invoices, collaborate with brokers and third-party vendors, and the Accounts Payable team to ensure timely payments.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with multi-state insurance regulations and filing requirements.
  • Support the annual insurance budgeting process, including post renewal updates and communication with the Finance and Accounting teams.

Systems & Tools

  • Serve as the administrator and superuser of the Risk Management Information System (RMIS), support system implementation and system upgrades.
  • Assist in automating key workflows such as certificate issuance, claim entry, and insurance renewal exposure data collection and reporting.
  • Help build internal tools and dashboards to enhance risk reporting and visibility for business partners.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in risk management, insurance, compliance, or corporate operations.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance policies and concepts, policy structure, and administrative processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and experience with RMIS or related platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to explain technical risk concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.
  • Proactive mindset and a problem-solving approach.

Bonus:

  • Experience working in a corporate risk or insurance department or insurance broker supporting multiple lines of coverage.
  • Familiarity with automated risk workflows and exposure data management practices.
  • Knowledge of insurance compliance requirements in multi-state operations.
The base salary range for this role is $68,500 - $102,500.00.
  • The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.
