Compensation
At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $187,341-$248,229.74 Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Are you passionate about Production Operations? S&C Electric Company is seeking a Director - Information Technology. As a Director-IT, you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. The Director - Information Technology oversees specific functions within the IT department, collaborating with various client groups across the company to identify and implement IT solutions that support business needs. This role requires strategic planning, leadership, and a deep understanding of technology trends and business processes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • IT Strategy: Develop and execute the IT strategy for Production Operations and Finance and Accounting in alignment with the company's overall business objectives. Identify emerging technology trends and assess their potential impact on the business. Plan and manage the implementation of IT initiatives to support business growth and efficiency.
  • Production Operations and Finance Team Support: Act as a business partner to provide strategic direction and technology leadership to the Production Operations and Finance teams. Partner with members of the Production Operations and Finance Senior Leadership teams to identify both current and future technology needs for the group, ensuring extensive understanding of business strategies as they apply to S&C. Build upon strong relationships with key stakeholders, craft technology solutions to meet the needs of the groups' strategic initiatives. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of business-focused technologies, ensuring they are integrated with other systems and meet the needs of the function.
  • Internal Application Support: Ensure internal applications are managed effectively to support the needs of the greater enterprise, including an Oracle ERP system and several custom-built applications. Oversee a team responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of systems. Collaborate with other IT teams, such as Information Risk Management, to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Leadership & People Management: Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team. Role model appropriate and professional workplace behaviors, address/mediate conflicts to restore harmony, and support a positive, healthy, and inclusive workplace culture by S&C's mission, vision, values, and guiding principles. Manage departmental administrative team member processes, including but not limited to recruitment, induction, vacation management, performance reviews, performance improvement plans, and workforce/succession planning. Proactively establish, monitor, and hold team members accountable to clear responsibilities and accountabilities; provide ongoing performance feedback, both positive and developmental; address performance gaps promptly; recognize and reward achievements; and initiate decisions for corrective actions and terminations where required. Foster a culture that supports the growth and development of team members and proactively train, mentor, and coach team members.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the department's budget, ensuring accuracy and appropriate allocation of resources to maximize ROI and the achievement of departmental strategies and objectives.
  • Thought Leadership: Offer thought leadership and strategic guidance to the organization, driving the implementation of innovative information technology strategies and impactful programs to enhance business effectiveness.
  • Compliance: Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules

What you'll Need to Succeed:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Solutions Design, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in managing information systems, including 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in IT.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting a business function as an IT Leader, including manufacturing operations.
  • Experience leading Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) transformation programs that modernize business processes, improve data governance, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Excellent knowledge of production operations technology, with broad-based experience in managing related applications and providing guidance to diverse teams.
  • Ability to act as a business partner, to Production Operations, Finance, and Quality. Ability to understand service standards and the process for analyzing and recommending solutions to address business needs.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to lead, guide, motivate, and delegate to deliver results, build teams and capabilities, embrace change, drive decisions and outcomes, embrace culture and inclusion, and exhibit integrity.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills, coordinating internal and external resources, creative problem-solving when obstacles arise, and juggling a heavy volume of diverse projects, including both strategic and tactical assignments.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, navigate and resolve conflict, moderate behaviors, and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation); able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, from senior executives to support staff, and present compellingly to achieve buy-in from executives, managers, and team members.
  • Excellent business acumen and analytical skills with the ability to use and analyze data to drive informed decisions, problem-solve complex issues, and leverage data and learnings to drive continuous improvement.
  • Sound financial acumen and numerical ability to manage budgetary resources to maximum effectiveness.
  • Skilled at navigating through ambiguity and leading teams and organizations through change.
  • Ability to travel as required.
