Airbourne Mapping Solutions (AMS), a part of Hexagon, operates two fleets in North America. KASI Aviation Services Inc. (KASI) is a North American flight service provider and a leader in airborne Lidar and Bathymetric survey operations. North West Geomatics Ltd. is a leading geomatics firm that specializes in aerial acquisition and processing.
We are seeking an experienced Director of Aviation to join our team and provide solid professional leadership across our aviation groups. The ideal candidate brings exceptional strategic judgment, strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, and the ability to inspire highperforming teams. This leader thrives in dynamic environments, navigates complexity with confidence, and consistently delivers results through clear direction, collaboration, and accountability.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides executive oversight in developing and enforcing operational policies and procedures that safeguard aircraft reliability and maintain the highest standards of aviation safety.
  • Oversee all aspects of KASI, a 702 operation & NWG, a US Part 91 operation, including approximately 13 aircraft.
  • Provide leadership to operations teams ensuring company operations are conducted in accordance with current regulations, standards and the Company Operations Manual, including Business Unit level oversight for:
    • Teams that coordinate multiple functions including aircraft maintenance, crew scheduling, load control, equipment scheduling, project coordination.
    • Ensuring implementation and execution of SOPs Company Operations Manual in accordance with Transport Canada regulations and best practices.
    • Teams responsible for ensuring trained and qualified personnel are employed for all flight operations. Including the development and management of crew training programs.
  • Business Unit liaison with Transport Canada, the FAA as well as regulative authorities while operating outside Canadian & US jurisdictions to ensure the division is operating with safety, regulatory and business needs at the forefront.
  • Provide updates and solutions to executive management, clients and stakeholders.
  • Liaise with senior leadership and the Aviation Compliance & Safety Manager to maintain a critical documents repository including, emergency response plans, SMS, training documents etc.
  • This role will report directly into the VP, AMS Operations.
