MANTECH seeks a career and customer-oriented Human Systems Integration Expert to join our team in Washington, D.C. This is a hybrid position with 1 day onsite and 4 days remote per week.

The role requires an individual with a unique combination of deep technical knowledge, managerial acumen, and extensive experience within the DHS or Department of War (DoW) acquisition ecosystems.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a senior Subject Matter Expert and technical authority and high-level domain expertise in Human Systems Integration
  • Identify the necessary number of personnel required to operate, maintain, and support systems
  • Define the knowledge, skill, training, and abilities needed to properly fill platform operations
  • Design the policies, processes, and devices required to train the workforce efficiently
  • Design and lead the execution of tests and technical demonstrations to verify and validate human performance objectives when operating innovative technical solutions that improve DHS mission outcomes
  • Ensure living and working environments meet basic human needs to sustain performance in all operating conditions
  • Directs the work of junior and intermediate engineers, ensuring that all test activities align with mission-critical objectives and provide the statistical evidence required for acquisition decisions
  • Ensure that all deliverables meet DHS S&T quality standards
  • Serve as a key bridge between mission requirements and technical implementation, ensuring that Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation efforts are consistently documented to support procurement decisions

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sciences, Psychology or a related discipline

  • 12+ years of experience in Human Systems Integration

  • Policy Proficiency: Experience with DHS acquisition policy and DHS systems engineering processes

  • Technical Writing: Proven experience in developing complex technical reports and briefings for senior leadership

  • Deep knowledge on designing interfaces to optimize human safety and performance through interaction with systems designed to deliver mission outcomes that improve efficiency and effectiveness

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD with specialty in Human Systems Integration
  • War Acquisition University (WAU) or DHS System Engineering or Test and Evaluation certifications
  • Comprehensive understanding of DHS Acquisition Management Instruction 102-01

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain a DHS Public Trust clearance prior to starting this position

Physical Requirements:

  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations
