What does a director holistic do?

A Director of Holistic oversees and integrates wellness strategies across an organization, focusing on the well-being of employees, clients, or patients in a comprehensive way. This role typically involves developing and implementing programs that address physical, mental, emotional, and sometimes spiritual health. The Director works with various departments to ensure that policies and practices support a balanced, healthy work environment. They may also evaluate program effectiveness and make improvements based on feedback and research.

What are some common challenges faced by a director holistic, and how can they be addressed?

A Director of Holistic Programs often faces challenges integrating multiple wellness initiatives—such as mental health, nutrition, and physical fitness—into a cohesive strategy that serves diverse client or employee needs. Balancing limited resources while ensuring program effectiveness requires strong coordination and collaboration with various departments. To address these challenges, successful directors prioritize clear communication, continual assessment of program outcomes, and fostering interdepartmental partnerships to leverage expertise and resources. This approach helps create a supportive and adaptable environment where holistic wellness can thrive.

These skills are crucial for developing effective wellness programs, leading multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring comprehensive care for clients.

  • Oversee day-to-day clinical operations, including caseload assignment, coverage, and client flow
  • Monitor clinical quality, documentation compliance, and client outcomes, providing feedback and coaching to clinical staff
  • Participate in the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training clinical staff
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support the professional development of therapists

Clinical Supervision (Preferred)
  • Where qualified, provide clinical supervision to HHT's temporarily or provisionally licensed clinicians (e.g., LMHC, LMFT, or LMSW) accruing supervised experience toward independent Iowa licensure, in accordance with Iowa Board of Behavioral Science and Iowa Board of Social Work requirements
  • Document supervision hours and support supervisees' progression to full licensure
  • Provide case consultation, mentorship, and ongoing clinical development for staff

Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure clinical services comply with Iowa licensing board regulations, payer requirements, and HIPAA
  • Support documentation audits, utilization review, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate with administrative staff on credentialing, insurance authorizations, and payer compliance

Collaboration & Practice Support
  • Partner with the Office Manager and site administrative staff on scheduling, intake flow, billing coordination, and operations at both locations
  • Serve as the primary clinical point of contact for both locations and for LSC corporate functions on clinical matters
  • Maintain a regular presence across both locations, with travel between sites as needed
  • Support the continued integration and growth of the counseling services at Holistic Healing Therapy and the Holistic Healing Center within LifeSkills Connection, Inc
