Job description

Director-System Marketing

The Director of System Marketing leads the strategy and execution of marketing initiatives that drive growth, strengthen brand preference, and advance organizational priorities across IU Health. This leader oversees three key areas of responsibility: Service Line Marketing, Indianapolis Metro Regional Marketing, and Destination Health Marketing, ensuring alignment between enterprise growth objectives, local market needs, and IU Health's nationally recognized clinical programs. 

The Director partners with executive, operational, physician, and regional leaders to align marketing strategies with organizational priorities and growth objectives. This leader provides strategic direction and oversight for service line, regional, and destination health marketing, ensuring brand plans, campaigns, and marketing investments effectively support system and regional goals. This Director's responsibilities include establishing marketing priorities, guiding annual planning processes, overseeing budget and resource allocation, monitoring performance, and ensuring alignment across teams, agencies, and stakeholders. 

The Director leads and develops a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous growth. This leader establishes clear priorities, develops team capabilities, and builds strong cross-functional partnerships to advance organizational goals. The leader is accountable for delivering measurable results in growth, patient and referring provider engagement, brand strength, and market performance.

Key Relationships

Reports to: Executive Director-Marketing

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.

 Bachelor's Degree Required. Masters Preferred.
 Degree in Marketing, Health Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Requires 7-10 years of relevant experience including significant experience leading brand strategy.
 Requires 3+ years of direct supervisory leadership experience in a healthcare-related industry.
 Requires leadership experience in a matrix organization and complex work environment.
 Requires knowledge of state and national regulatory agency guidelines.
