The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services team in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico:

The Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization at RTX is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the administration, support, optimization, and continuous improvement of enterprise Windows and Linux server environments. This role ensures the reliability, security, and performance of critical infrastructure by managing server technologies, virtualization platforms, cloud integrations, and data management solutions. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Systems Engineer develops and implements technology solutions, resolves complex technical issues, drives process standardization, and supports cybersecurity and compliance initiatives while delivering a high level of customer service and operational excellence.

What You Will Do

  • Provide expertise, management, and support for Digital Technology systems in complex Microsoft Windows and Enterprise Linux environments, including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and server replication technologies.
  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux server infrastructure to ensure system reliability, availability, and performance.
  • Develop and implement technology solutions based on industry best practices to support business and operational objectives.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues involving hardware, operating systems, and integrated technologies.
  • Manage and support virtualized environments using VMware technologies, including performance tuning of physical and virtual servers.
  • Support data storage, configuration management, data retention solutions, cloud services integration, and firewall segmentation initiatives.
  • Monitor system performance and utilization, identifying and implementing opportunities to improve operational efficiency and system effectiveness.
  • Collaborate across organizational and cybersecurity teams to standardize processes, maintain security compliance requirements, and support enterprise technology initiatives.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, provide training on IT processes and procedures, and complete assigned tickets and tasks in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Travel approximately 10%.
  • This position will reference written work instructions for guidance with daily job activities. Work instructions are available in English only.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior experience in IT project management, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
  • Proven experience administering Windows Server environments, including Active Directory (directory services), system hardening, and enterprise server management.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with VMware virtualization platforms, including vCenter, vSphere, and ESX in production environments.
  • Experience with cloud technologies including Microsoft Azure and AWS, including integration, automation, and infrastructure deployment using Ansible playbooks.
  • Experience managing medium-sized server environments, including storage technologies (NAS/SAN), networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, switches, routers, firewalls), and system performance monitoring tools.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives, including configuration management, project lifecycle execution, solution development and documentation, roadmap planning, and mentoring or training team members in standard IT processes.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • 8+ years experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX virtual computing methods
  • Experience with remote services utilizing HP blade technology, VDI, HPC, HP Boost, Turbo Exceed and Loestream
  • Successful integration AWS / Azure Cloud operations and business development related to associated costs
  • Advanced knowledge of system performance monitoring and deployment of associated tools such as Solarwinds, Systrak, Splunk, Tanium, Eracent, Ganglia, Graphana or Prometheus.
  • Patch management experience using Windows WSUS, SCCM, VMware templates or other tools
  • System administration experience in a Linux environment with Basic knowledge Redhat Enterprise Linux
  • Experience with license managers in a Windows or Linux environment
