Job description

Global Marketing Strategy (GMS) combines product marketing, creative and digital teams with strategic functions responsible for planning, project management, firm integration, innovation and analytics to support the product and corporate development initiatives across MSIM. The Copy Director is part of the content function on the GMS Creative Team, collaborating directly with the design and audio/visual functions.

About the Role:

The Copy Director acts as a player-coach, managing other content team members as well as producing top-notch, on-brand work on high-profile advertising campaigns, large content initiatives, critical marketing collateral, and other high-profile projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and direct the work of a team of experienced writers in multiple locations, providing feedback and coaching as needed.
  • Handle copywriting duties for a variety of high-level projects, raising the creative bar for the GMS creative team.
  • Be a voice of content and branding for the firm, with an inside-out knowledge of brand standards and copywriting best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with design, digital, and video production teams as well as project stakeholders to bring a project to completion on time and on brand.
  • Present concepts to senior leadership at the firm.
  • Customize content in a digital-first environment to meet the distinct needs of different audiences and for delivery across various media, including web, social media, video and print.
  • Refine firm style guidelines as needed, working with other writers and Creative Team members.
  • Align team priorities with the firm's business objectives.
  • Streamline production timelines, seeking new ways to gain efficiency.
  • Assume additional content management duties as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in advertising, communications, or related field of study.
  • Minimum of 10 years of copywriting experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a leadership/management role.
  • Ability to think creatively, conceptually and strategically.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Strong verbal and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Investment industry experience a plus.
  • Candidates should be prepared to present a portfolio or body of work during the interview process.

Salary range for the position: $135,000 - $165,000 /Yr. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
