Job Summary:

The Marketing Agency Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, coordination, and performance oversight of marketing agencies and third-party partners, including paid media agencies, content creators, research partners, and specialized marketing vendors. Working within the strategy and direction established by the Sr. Manager of Creative Services, this role translates marketing priorities into effective agency execution and ensures external partners deliver high-quality work on time and in alignment with business and campaign objectives.

The Marketing Agency Manager serves as a primary point of contact between internal marketing stakeholders and external partners, maintaining visibility across agency-supported initiatives from planning and briefing through execution, optimization, reporting, and performance review. The role is responsible for proactive communication, agency accountability, performance reporting, issue resolution, and identifying opportunities to improve execution and partner effectiveness.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day relationships with marketing agencies and third-party partners, executing the external partner strategy, priorities, and standards established by the Sr. Manager of Creative Services.
  • Partner with supplier marketing managers, campaign owners, channel owners, and other stakeholders to understand campaign objectives, target audiences, requirements, timelines, and success metrics and translate them into clear, actionable agency briefs.
  • Coordinate agency-supported campaigns from planning and briefing through development, launch, optimization, and completion, maintaining visibility across deliverables, timelines, dependencies, approvals, and stakeholder needs.
  • Oversee agency execution to ensure work aligns with approved strategy, campaign objectives, audience requirements, brand standards, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Coordinate with paid media agencies on campaign planning, execution, reporting, and optimization while partnering with internal channel owners responsible for specific digital programs and platforms.
  • Monitor campaign performance and agency reporting, identify trends or performance gaps, and work with agencies and internal stakeholders to recommend and implement optimizations.
  • Develop and maintain consistent reporting on agency-supported initiatives, providing stakeholders with clear visibility into campaign status, performance against KPIs, key insights, risks, and recommended actions.
  • Hold agencies and vendors accountable for quality, timelines, responsiveness, commitments, and performance; proactively address execution issues and drive corrective action through resolution.
  • Escalate significant performance, relationship, or execution concerns to the Sr. Manager of Creative Services with clear context, business impact, actions taken, and recommended next steps.
  • Facilitate effective ways of working, including status meetings, performance reviews, stakeholder communication, and process improvements that strengthen execution, accountability, and overall partner effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Level Specifications:

  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of agency and campaign management practices, with an understanding of integrated marketing, paid media, content, demand generation, and relevant industry best practices.
  • Demonstrates strong campaign and project management skills, effectively coordinating multiple agencies, vendors, campaigns, stakeholders, deliverables, timelines, and dependencies.
  • Interprets campaign and agency performance data to identify trends, insights, performance gaps, and opportunities for optimization and translates findings into clear recommendations and actions.
  • Demonstrates the ability to hold external partners accountable for quality, commitments, timelines, responsiveness, and results and to constructively challenge agency recommendations or execution when expectations are not being met.
  • Demonstrates ownership and accountability for agency execution and partner performance, proactively identifying risks, improving ways of working, and following issues through resolution.
  • Extensive knowledge and application of principles, theories and concepts. Complete knowledge of all job functions and the broad industry best practices, techniques and standards.
  • Develops solutions to complex problems where analysis of situations and/or data requires in-depth evaluation of variables. Determine best approach to achieve results and provide suggestions to improve policies and procedures.
  • Work is performed independently and requires the exercise of judgment and discretion. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. Work may be reviewed at a high-level.
  • May represent the organization as a primary contact on assignments and/or projects. Interacts with senior professionals and management and frequently coordinates work between departments or organizations.


Work Experience:

  • Typically 5+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.


Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
