Job Title: Director, Business Development ABS Heliblade

Reports To: Group Director – Sales & Business Development

Job Description
The Business Development Director is responsible for developing and executing the global rotorcraft business development strategy for Aviation Blade Services (ABS) and Heliblade International (HBI). The role is primarily focused on growing revenue through rotor blade overhaul, repair, composite repair, engineering services, exchange programs, and military/commercial rotorcraft sustainment solutions. As helicopter customers often require broader sustainment support, the position will also identify opportunities that leverage complementary capabilities within AAMSI and other First Aviation businesses within AMETEK MRO, providing integrated solutions that add value to rotorcraft operators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the global business development strategy for ABS and Heliblade.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities across military, commercial, EMS, offshore, utility, forestry, firefighting and law enforcement helicopter markets.
  • Develop relationships with DoD, FMS operators, Ministries of Defense, OEMs, helicopter operators and MRO facilities worldwide.
  • Promote rotor blade overhaul, composite repair, engineering services, exchange programs and technical training.
  • Lead proposal development and pricing with Engineering, Operations, Quality and Finance.
  • Represent the company at trade shows and customer meetings globally.
  • Deliver market intelligence on fleet trends, competitors and modernization programs.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities that leverage complementary First Aviation capabilities and strategic partners.
  • Lead weekly business development pipeline reviews.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of aerospace or helicopter business development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of military and commercial rotorcraft sustainment.
  • Experience with government/FMS programs preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically & internationally
  • Military service background preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); ability to quickly learn and navigate BD tools and databases.

  • Firefighting, forestry, EMS, offshore, utility and VIP operators

Education/Experience/Other Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Aerospace, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Pre-employment drug screening and background check required.
  • Travel within the U.S. and internationally will be required as part of the role.
