Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineer III is responsible for board placement and layout review, leading hardware prototyping, bring-up testing, validation, and performance benchmarking to ensure design integrity. Provides technical support through failure diagnosis and root cause analysis, collaborates with vendors to resolve technical and quality issues and manages Bill of Materials (BOM) while evaluating alternate components to optimize supply chain and ensure product reliability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop server components (Motherboards, CPU modules, I/O cards, PDB module) and create schematics using CAD/EDA tools.
  • Board placement and layout review.
  • Lead hardware prototyping, bring-up, and performance benchmarking to optimize design integrity.
  • Diagnose hardware failures and provide root cause analysis for manufacturing and customer issues.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to resolve design technicalities and ensure product quality.
  • Manage BOMs and evaluate alternate components for supply chain optimization.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Electronics, or related fields.

Experience:

  • Over 5 years of experience.
  • Solid understanding of GPU and ARM CPU architectures. Direct experience or familiarity with NVIDIA platforms, specifically NVLink and the Blackwell GPU architecture, is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in PCB design and layout, with the ability to take a design from schematic capture through board bring-up.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware design tools such as Cadence (Allegro/OrCAD) or Altium Designer.
  • Knowledge of high-speed digital design principles, including signal integrity and power integrity .
  • Experience in electronic hardware design focused on high-frequency signal integrity and electromagnetic interference mitigation, and testing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a team-player attitude, with the ability to collaborate effectively with System Design and Manufacturing teams to ensure design manufacturability.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to document technical specifications and participate in technical reviews.
  • Bilingual language skills in Chinese and English is a plus but not required.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to occasionally walk, bend, or reach while supporting office and facility operations.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand movements when handling office supplies, documents, or computer equipment.
  • Work performed primarily in an office or facility environment with regular interaction with employees and visitors.
