Job Description

The Executive Director (ED) of Marketing, Epilepsy & Movement Disorders (EMD), is a senior commercial leader accountable for defining and delivering the US epilepsy brand strategy, with primary responsibility for current product and the broader EMD portfolio. This role owns enterprise-wide brand strategy, including driving adult patient growth, lifecycle management, and launch excellence for the capsule formulation. The ED integrates HCP, patient, and access strategies to maximize impact, while leading resource allocation, ROI optimization, and portfolio trade-offs to deliver sustainable growth. As a key member of the franchise leadership team, this leader builds a high-performing organization and champions a patient-centric, performance-driven culture aligned to Jazz values.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Define and lead the enterprise EMD marketing vision and strategic roadmap, with clear accountability for epilepsy performance and growth.

  • Develop and execute integrated brand strategy across epilepsy indications, including adult expansion, lifecycle innovation, and capsule formulation launch readiness and execution.

  • Own the 3-year strategic plan and annual operating plan, ensuring alignment to franchise and corporate objectives.

  • Lead prioritization, resource allocation, and investment decisions based on ROI, analytics, and enterprise trade-offs.

  • Oversee development of compelling positioning, messaging, and promotional platforms grounded in clinical differentiation and patient outcomes.

  • Drive omnichannel marketing execution across HCP, patient, and caregiver audiences, ensuring consistent and compliant delivery.

  • Partner closely with Sales, Market Access, Medical, Regulatory, Finance, and Patient Services to ensure integrated execution and performance delivery.

  • Serve as the commercial voice in executive forums (forecasting, supply, portfolio strategy), shaping decisions with data-driven insights.

  • Leverage market insights, competitive intelligence, and performance analytics to dynamically optimize strategy.

  • Establish and track KPIs to ensure accountability, continuous improvement, and delivery against revenue and share targets.

  • Ensure all strategies and tactics meet regulatory, legal, and compliance standards.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including KOLs and advocacy groups within epilepsy and EMD.


Leadership & Team Performance

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing marketing organization with strong accountability for results and culture.

  • Drive enterprise thinking, ensuring alignment across brands, functions, and portfolio priorities.

  • Inspire teams to deliver innovation, speed, and execution excellence.

  • Build capabilities in strategic marketing, omnichannel execution, and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • 12+ years pharmaceutical/biotech experience with significant US marketing leadership.

  • Deep experience in neurology, epilepsy, or specialty/rare disease strongly preferred.

  • Proven track record leading brand strategy, product launches, and lifecycle management (including new formulation launches).

  • Strong financial acumen, including budget ownership, ROI optimization, and trade-off decision making.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.

  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical capability, and executive communication skills.

  • Track record of building high-performing teams and leading through change in complex environments.

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive.For this role, the full and complete base pay range is:

$280,000.00 - $420,000.00

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other pertinent factors. The goal is to ensure fair and competitive compensation aligned with the candidate's expertise and contributions, within the established pay framework and our Total Compensation philosophy. Internal equity considerations will also influence individual base pay decisions. This range will be reviewed on a regular basis.

At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz's Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.
