SAP Security Specialist & GSSO: Defend Our Most Critical National Assets!
Are you an elite security professional with the expertise to safeguard the nation's most closely held technology and intelligence? We are seeking a Special Access Program (SAP) Security Specialist to join our premier security management team, with the potential to serve as a designated Government Special Access Security Officer (GSSO).
In this high-stakes role, you will stand as the ultimate guardian of our most classified enclaves. Your vigilance will protect the organization against espionage, terrorism, and the compromise of information vital to national defense, ensuring the Department of War can develop and deploy war-winning capabilities in an impenetrable environment.
As a core defender of our SAP security management team, your daily focus will be on executing flawless security protocols across multiple disciplines. You will:
- Serve as a Government Special Access Security Officer (GSSO): Step into a critical position of trust, potentially performing as a GSSO in strict accordance with Air Force and DoD guidance, overseeing the absolute security of assigned Special Access Programs.
- Champion SAP Security Operations: Deliver specialized security functions in direct support of our most restricted programs, ensuring operational integrity and airtight compliance for Collateral, SAP, and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) environments.
- Administer Multi-Disciplinary Defense: Play a hands-on role in implementing diverse and robust security disciplines, including Industrial, Information, Personnel, Physical, and Operations Security (OPSEC).
- Master Force Protection and COMSEC: Execute critical defense and safety measures, including Communications Security (COMSEC), Antiterrorism protocols, and Force Protection strategies to keep our personnel, facilities, and assets safe.
- Manage Core Security Services: Deliver the essential daily operations that keep our workforce compliant and mission-ready, including personnel clearance management, the execution of critical security training, and the rapid, thorough investigation of security incidents.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- U.S. Citizenship
- The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty
- Designated special-sensitive and requires a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and
responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret w/SCI clearance.
- Obtain and maintain approval to access the portfolio of Special Access Programs required to perform daily duties
- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise
- May require the employee to work outside the normal business hours
- This position is a designated National Security Position
- Designated drug testing position
- Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC) are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification. The listed certification requirement(s) may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative. Special Programs Security Credential (SPSC) is recommended, but not required.
Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
1. In-depth knowledge of SAP security concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas.
2. Extensive knowledge of AFMC's mission, functions, and structure to the unit level to ensure effective
implementation and oversight of special programs security concepts, principles, and practices.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of all Information Security disciplines and governing policies, directives,
instructions, and procedures.
4. Expert knowledge of General Supply Administration (GSA) specifications; state-of-the-art detection and surveillance systems, construction standards, automated data processing systems and other security concepts to integrate the requirements of all security disciplines into guidance for the implementation and management of the AFMC special programs information security program.
5. Expert knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to conduct surveys/studies, accomplish projects, and effectively evaluate results for the effective management and completion of programs.
6. Able to effectively manage and organize various program activities and tasks, singularly and together, and familiar with administrative requirements of USAF and AFMC.
