Job description

Russian-Speaking Caregiver Needed - Hamden, CT
Monday - Friday | 9 AM - 2 PM | $22/hour

Some caregiving roles are more than a job. This is one of them.
We are looking for a compassionate, skilled Russian-speaking caregiver to provide dedicated support to a warm and resilient woman living with ALS in Hamden, CT. As her condition has progressed, she relies on trusted, experienced hands for her daily comfort and care - and because she speaks primarily Russian, language isn't just a preference here. It's essential to her dignity and her ability to communicate her needs.
ALS has affected her mobility, neck control, and use of her arms and hands. She currently walks only a few steps with assistance and will likely transition to a wheelchair in the near future. She needs someone who understands the physical and emotional realities of ALS and who will show up every day with patience, skill, and genuine care.
If that describes you, we'd love to talk.
Schedule:
  • Monday through Friday
  • 9 AM to 2 PM

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Providing companionship and emotional support
  • Assisting with personal care (showering, dressing, grooming, and toileting)
  • Meal preparation and feeding assistance
  • Monitoring client safety and overall well-being
  • Mobility support and help with transfers
  • Light housekeeping and laundry
  • Creating a calm, safe, and comfortable environment

What We're Looking For:
  • Fluent Russian speaker - required (client speaks primarily Russian)
  • Experience caring for a client with ALS strongly preferred
  • Confident with mobility support and transfers
  • Professional, compassionate, and responsive to clients needs
  • Compassionate, reliable. and committed to providing high-quality care
  • Clear communication skills

What You Get:
  • Competitive Pay: $22 per hour
  • Positive and supportive work environment
  • 1.5X Overtime Pay and When Working on Company Holidays
  • Direct Deposit and Weekly Pay
  • Retirement Savings Program
  • Flexible Hours to Work Around Your Schedule
  • Local Work Near Your Home
  • Paid Time Off
  • Paid Sick Leave
  • A support office team that communicates and has your back

If you have ALS caregiving experience and are looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone's life, we'd love to hear from you.
At Collaborative Home Care, our mission is simple: to bring respect, compassion, and consistency to caregiving - for both clients and the people who care for them.
Apply today by submitting your application and join one of Connecticut's highest-rated home care team!
