Job description

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a dedicated Internal Medicine Faculty Preceptor to join our team in the Outpatient Department (OPD). This role offers a unique opportunity to mentor and guide internal medicine residents while providing exceptional patient care in a vibrant, academically focused setting.
As a Faculty Preceptor, you will play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of internal medicine physicians through direct supervision, clinical teaching, and leadership within our residency program.
Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Precepting: Supervise and mentor internal medicine residents in the outpatient setting, guiding them through patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management.
  • Patient Care: Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to patients in a diverse outpatient practice setting.
  • Educational Leadership: Participate in residency curriculum development, teaching conferences, and educational sessions.
  • Faculty Collaboration: Work closely with a team of dedicated faculty members to foster a dynamic learning environment.
  • Research & Scholarship: Opportunity to engage in scholarly activities, including research, publications, and presentations.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in clinical quality initiatives and promote best practices in patient care.

Qualifications
  • Medical Degree (MD/DO) from an accredited institution
  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine (or Board Eligibility)
  • New York State Medical License (or ability to obtain licensure prior to start date)
  • Prior experience in a teaching/precepting role is preferred but not required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A passion for teaching and mentoring residents

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
L - Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly; requires occasional walking, standing or squatting.
