Job description

One Tech Engineering is searching for a Director of Project Management for a position located in Jackson, Ohio; Hamburg, Arkansas; and Shawboro, North Carolina. The Director of Project Management is responsible for overall project delivery of utility-scale solar EPC projects at the site level.


The candidate must be a US Citizen or a green card holder, the position is not eligible for sponsorship. The candidate should have 10-15+ years of project management experience, including utility-scale solar or large infrastructure EPC projects.


Director of Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the senior project leader responsible for end-to-end delivery of on-site EPC projects (20MW–500MW+).
  • Partner with the Construction Director to align field execution with project objectives.
  • Ensure all project functions (construction, engineering, procurement, commissioning) are coordinated and integrated.
  • Own and manage the master project schedule, including critical path and milestone tracking (NTP to COD).
  • Oversee project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Lead variance analysis and implement corrective actions to address schedule or cost deviations.
  • Administer EPC contracts, ensuring compliance with scope, terms, and conditions.
  • Lead change order management, claims development, and dispute resolution.
  • Protect project margins through proactive commercial oversight and risk mitigation.
  • Direct project controls, including scheduling, cost tracking, and performance reporting.
  • Provide regular updates to executive leadership and clients (progress, risks, financials).
  • Implement KPI tracking and reporting systems to measure project performance.
  • Identify project risks across schedule, cost, supply chain, and execution.
  • Develop and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Escalate critical issues and drive timely resolution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the client/owner on project performance.
  • Manage relationships with utilities, regulators, and third-party stakeholders.
  • Lead project meetings, reporting reviews, and executive updates.

Requirements for the Director of Engineering:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • 10-15+ years of project management experience, including utility-scale solar or large infrastructure EPC projects.
  • Proven track record managing full lifecycle EPC contracts from NTP to COD.
  • Strong knowledge of project controls, scheduling, and cost management practices.
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Procore, MS Project).
  • Strategic project leadership and execution.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Advanced risk management and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams in complex project environments.
