Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Physician with Sleep Lab Medical Directorship
CaroMont Health - Gastonia, NC
CaroMont Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Physician to join our expanding team and serve as Medical Director for our Sleep Medicine Program and Sleep Lab. This position offers a balanced mix of clinical practice and leadership within a progressive, physician-led health system located minutes from Charlotte.
Position Overview
  • Join a well-established group of 7 Pulmonologists and 7 Advanced Practice Providers
  • Inpatient and outpatient pulmonary and sleep medicine practice
  • 1:7 call with a schedule of 1 week inpatient / 3 weeks outpatient
  • Advanced procedures: Navigational Bronchoscopy, EBUS, Zephyr Valve Placement, and Robotic-Assisted Bronchoscopy (coming soon)
  • Hospital-attached Sleep Lab with strong APP support
  • Collaborative environment with Cardiothoracic Surgery, Oncology, Cardiology, and Respiratory Therapy
  • Opportunity to support Intensivist Program if desired

Medical Directorship Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the Sleep Medicine Program and Sleep Lab
  • Ensure regulatory compliance (AASM, CMS, Joint Commission)
  • Guide testing protocols, quality initiatives, and performance improvement
  • Participate in medical staff committees and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Support program development, accreditation readiness, and provider education
  • Up to 12 administrative hours per month

Qualifications
  • Active NC medical license (or eligibility)
  • ABMS Board Certification in Sleep Medicine
  • Experience in medical leadership preferred
  • Familiarity with AASM accreditation standards and quality improvement initiatives
