Job description

Healthcare Coding & Consulting Services (HCCS) is seeking an experienced DRG Validator to join our growing team. This is a full-time, fully remote opportunity for a highly skilled coding professional with extensive experience in DRG validation, inpatient auditing, and complex inpatient coding.

Position Requirements:

  • Active AHIMA or AAPC coding certification required.
  • CCS certification required.
  • CDIP and/or CCDS certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent APR-DRG/DRG coding experience in a Level II Trauma Center or higher.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent inpatient auditing experience in a Level II Trauma Center or higher.
  • Previous DRG/APR-DRG validation experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding guidelines, MS-DRG/APR-DRG assignment, reimbursement methodologies, and documentation requirements.
  • Ability to identify coding opportunities, validate DRG assignment, and provide clear audit findings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Must reside in the United States.
