Job Summary
25-30 hrs per week
MUST HAVE A MININUM OF 5 YRS EXPERIENCE IN BIOLOGY OR LIFE SCIENCE
Under the direction of the Executive Director of Adult Education, this multi-faceted instructor plans and delivers comprehensive academic and vocational instruction to adult learners as follows:
Academic (ASE/ABE) Instruction & Support: ? Delivers evidence-based, scaffolded instruction in multi-level HSD/HSE and Adult Basic
Education (ABE) classrooms. ? Manages distance learning platforms and guides independent study to ensure student success. ? Administers placement exams (such as CASAS) to track progress against state College and Career Readiness Standards. ? Maintains accurate, compliant attendance, progress, and performance records in
accordance with state and district regulations.
Vocational ESL (VESL):
? Delivers contextualized academic lessons relating to biology concurrently paired with a
healthcare training program to bridge the gap between language acquisition and
professional skills. ? Focuses heavily on workforce preparation, including Career Readiness (resumes/interviews), Workplace Communication, and Soft Skills (time
management/teamwork).
ESL PLC Facilitator: ? Leads evidence-based Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to foster collaborative, data-driven instructional practices among staff.
