Job Overview
Komatsu is seeking a Director, AI & Data to lead enterprise-wide AI and data transformation initiatives across our North American organizations. This role will shape strategy, governance, and advanced analytics capabilities that enable smarter decisions, scalable innovation, and long-term business value.
The Director, AI & Data serves as a strategic partner to business and functional leaders, embedding AI, analytics, and data-driven insights into operations, planning, and performance measurement. This leader will also build and mentor a high-performing team while championing responsible AI, data ethics, and governance.
Key Job Responsibilities
  • Lead the enterprise AI and data strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities and long-term transformation goals
  • Define and manage an enterprise AI and data roadmap, architecture, and operating model
  • Embed advanced analytics and AI capabilities into core business processes including forecasting, predictive analytics, and intelligent automation
  • Establish and operationalize data governance, stewardship, and standardization practices across the enterprise
  • Partner closely with IT, business units, and functional leaders to modernize data platforms and infrastructure
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of data scientists, engineers, and analytics leaders
  • Champion ethical AI practices, data privacy, and compliance standards
  • Promote data literacy and AI enablement across functions to drive adoption and value realization
  • Monitor performance and continuously refine AI and data initiatives for scalability and efficiency

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field required.
  • Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years in data and analytics leadership roles, including 5+ years leading enterprise data/AI initiatives.
  • Deep knowledge of AI/ML technologies, cloud data platforms, and data engineering best practices.
  • Demonstrated success driving data and AI transformations at scale in complex organizations.
  • Expertise in ethical AI, data privacy, and compliance standards.
  • Strong skills in communication, leadership, change management, and stakeholder engagement.

Additional Information
Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $193,000-$250,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
